Kittitas County Roping Club Coming up is one of the largest fundraisers and events for the Kittitas County Roping Club, The Ellensburg 5-Header. The 5-Header this year is going to be on May 3 & 4, 2014. This is a great event that will host a Calf Roping, Steer roping, Breakaway Roping and Barrel Race over the weekend, as well as the cowboy Cal- cutta auction Saturday night the 3rd at the Gold Buckle Club. Entry forms have been sent out for the invitational calf roping and we look forward to another good turnout this year of about 20 cowboys competing for the prestigious 5-Header Title that will come out of this weekend! We are excited as a club this year to welcome the WPRA breakaway for the ladies side. With the WPRA we will also be welcoming a vault denim vendor the throughout the weekend at the 5-header. This event also takes a lot of work from many members of our club. This is a great opportunity to earn your work events for the 2014 year, please sign up if you are available! It sure makes for a smoother weekend. Coming up is one of the largest fundraisers and events for the Kittitas County Roping Club, The Ellensburg 5-Header. The 5-Header this year is going to be on May 3 & 4, 2014. Meeting called to order at 7:34 pm by President Katie Stingley

February meeting minutes read by Hailey and no corrections made. Minutes were passed.

Treasurer’s Report by Julie;

Old Business:

Jacks motion to hold on to leftover gift certificates from last meeting. Keep this in the back of your mind throughout the year

Discussion about any sponsors that have been attained since last meeting. Michelle talked to Old mill and Kevin turned in f orm.

Michelle is going back on Friday to finalize what they are going to sponsor. Michelle also collected other 5-header spon sors and money.

Talk about the new start time --- everyone was happy with the new adjustment

5-Header

Currently about $2000 in sponsorships for 5 Header --- Michelle brought in numerous sponsors and gave info/sponsorships to

Katy.

Meeting Monday at some point and time regarding the 5-header with the 5-header committee…. Location TBD – BJ will get In touch with everyone and let them know once details are figured out.

Jim donated rifle for the steer roping – club is paying for engraving --- $37

Katy has designed a new entry form for the 5-header

Vault denim is going to be a vendor present at the 5-header weekend

Gold buckle room is reserved for the Calcutta auction

Jason checked with Taylor for the auctioneer --- Taylor is going to check his schedule but is interested. We need to know if he has a

fee and if so we will pay that. If not suggest $100 and we’ll buy drinks for the night.

Memorial Day weekend - No ideas regarding a fundraiser ---- committee has asked that if anyone has a suggestion to please bring it to them. Decided as a club that if nothing is in plan by the April meeting that we will give up the hold on the arena for the weekend.

Discussion regarding the scholarships --- Christina is going to make sure that the scholarship form is to all the local schools and the

counselors are aware.

Discussion about gift certificates --- Julie checked with exit 115 and bleachers and they both wanted to be added to the gift cert

forms. She has taken care of that. Also advised that if anyone else knows of a place where business is frequented by members to ask if they would like to be added to the gift cert.

New Business

Jay has raffle tickets for the HS rodeo assoc available for purchase

Gift cert. were handed out from the Feb point roping.

Roping chairs for Sunday’s roping; Michelle and Ruby.
