Meeting.

Club President Kelly Westgerdes opened the meeting in the traditional manner. Happy Sad Dollar werecollected.

Board Meeting.

Dale Hart talked at length about hour club sponsoring a Key club at the Celina High School. He said that we have the support of Vaughn Ray. Dale will keep us appraised of his progress with this worthwhile endeavor. It would cost the club $400 per year to sponsor the club.

President Westgerdes handed out gas cards for this year. This year’s cards are for Shell gas as Marathon declined to participate. Each card is worth $50 in gas and costs $10 per card. Each member is encouraged to sell 10 cards. Two winners are selected, randomly and monthly at every board meeting. The selected cards are re-inserted in the drawing tub which means that the same winner might be selected multiple times during the year.

Hans gave a short report on his progress with the new official club web-site from Kiwanis International. Once he gets up to speed on it he will make an official presentation.

This months gas card drawing winners are Tom Krick and Linda May.

Megan Smith has officially Joined out club. Welcome aboard Megan.

Kiwanis Education.

64. The Kiwanis administrative year begins on October 1. Originally, clubs and districts operated on the calendar year. However, Kiwanis International officers were elected at the annual conventions in early summer and assumed office immediately or, beginning in 1950, on August 1. This led to many problems of budgeting, programming, and leadership. For example, each International President worked with two sets of district governors and club presidents, and vice versa. Finally, in 1969 the administrative year beginning October 1 was adopted for all levels of Kiwanis organization.
