Seminar/Workshop/Training Attended by Staff:-
Mr. H. M. Gaikwad, I/C HOD, Computer Dept. &Mr.S.V.Joshi, Lecturer in Electronics &
Communication Department attended a two days state level workshop on “Aviation Technology
& System Integration”- ATSI-2012, organized by K.K.Wagh I.E.E.R., Nashik in association with
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Nashik & Aeronautical society of India, Nashik branch held during
13th & 14
th January 2012. On first day the sessions on Global positioning system (GPS), aircraft
weapon control system, and flight data analysis & black box were attended. On second day a visit
to HAL, Nashik was organized. During this visit the sessions on introduction to HAL, basic
structure of aircraft and how aircraft flies were arranged in factory. A visit to final assembly shop,
electronics laboratories, instrumentation laboratories, flight hanger and air traffic control (ATC)
tower was organized. In this workshop, the participants gained the knowledge of various
technologies used in fighter aircrafts, various electronic parts of aircraft & its maintenance,
assembling the aircraft, how air traffic is controlled etc.
Seminar/Guest/Expert lecturers:
Meditation & Stress Management
The seminar on “Meditation & Stress Management” was conducted on 7
th Jan. 2012 at Vishwakarma Hall
during 11:30am to 3:30pm for all First Year students. It was conducted into two sessions. The speakers
were Dr. Monali Umap and Mrs. Suvarna Kolapkar. The purpose behind conduction of this program was
to learn the technique of stress Management through performing meditation. It was conducted on the basis
of ‘Sahaj Yoga’. In the sessions, both the speakers explained the meaning of ‘Sahaj’ means ‘Saha +J’.
‘Sahaj Yoga’ means ‘Union of self with all pervading power through awakening of Kundlini’. They
introduced & explained the all seven chakras and its benefits. The purpose behind it was to awake all
chakras through meditation and tackle with the all odds in our life. It was also told that it is mostly
beneficial to the students as they have to carry out the responsibilities. During carrying out these
responsibilities, the frustration, depression, negative mentality occur. It results into lack of confidence,
lack of memory, less attentiveness, restlessness, no enjoyment of life, impatient & irritable behavior. In
order to get relieve, performing meditation at morning & evening for 5to 10 min. is necessary.
The seminar was conducted successfully in the presence of all HOD’s and staff of Science Department.
All the staff worked hard to make it successful.

Swami Vivekanandanche Jivan Charitra
Smt. Shraddha Vyas delivering her thoughts
The seminar on “Swami Vivekanandanche Jivan Charitra” was organized on 17th Jan. 2012 at
Vishwakarma Hall during 1:30pm to 2:30pm for the First Year students of EJ and CM Department. It was
conducted on the occasion of ‘150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’ and ‘National Youth Day’
i.e. 12th Jan. 2012. The speaker was Smt. Shraddha Vyas, disciple of Swami Vivekananda, Mumbai. The
purpose behind conduction of this program was to get aware of life of Swami Vivekananda & his work.
The few incidences from childhood & youth of Swami Vivekananda were shared by the speaker. Through
this, it was also told that the students must have persistence, self- confidence, Analytical mind, Talent and
also try to tackle every odd in the life with the lion’s heart.
The seminar was conducted successfully in the presence of Principal and all HODs and staff of Science
Department. All the staff worked hard to make it successful.
Computer Security Systems
Mr. G.N.Jadhav delivering lecture on the techniques of Computer & Network security
Expert lecture was organized by Electronics and Telecommunication & Electronic & Communication
department for second year students on 19th January 2012. He explains the different network types. He
gives the brief idea about different issue regarding security of wired & wireless network. Different way
which cause computer data & network security & how to overcome it by using simple tools & tips. He
also gives the demo about how network or computers hacked by small mistakes like opening spam mails,
improper logout or some operating system related problems. This lecture proved beneficial to students as
they got overall idea about Computer & Network Security.
Fiber optics Communication
Mr.P.N.Kadam delivering lecture on fiber optics Communication
An expert lecture was organized by Electronics and Telecommunication dept for second and third
year students on 25th January 2012. Mr. P.N. Kadam foreman from K.K.Wagh Women’s Polytechnic
explained about fiber optic medium, different types of fiber optic cable used in industry. He presented
video on how light is propagated inside the cable by total internal reflection. He explained the overall
structure and construction of fiber optic. Student understood the construction, working and application of
fiber optics through this lecture.
E-Waste
Expert lecture was organized by Electronics and Telecommunication dept for first year students on 27th
January 2012. Mr. J.P. Shah Asst professor Electrical Engineering of K.K. Wagh Institute of
Engineering, Nashik covered different topics such as how E-wastes are considered dangerous, as certain
components of some electronic products contain materials that are hazardous, depending on their
condition and density. The hazardous content of these materials pose a threat to human health and
environment. Discarded computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, fax machines, electric lamps, cell
phones, audio equipment and batteries if improperly disposed can leach lead and other substances into
soil and groundwater. He gave important regarding E-wastes management to control pollution.

Web Application Testing using Ruby (WATIR):
Ms. Rachana Bafna, Perfomance Engg, Persistent System, Pune delivering, a lecture
An Expert Lecture on “Web Application Testing using Ruby (WATIR)” was organized by the Computer
Department on 17th January 2012 for the students of Second & Third year. The expert was Ms. Rachana
Bafna, Performance Engg., Persistent Systems, Pune who is also the alumna of this institute. She
discussed about Introduction to RUBY Language, what is WATIR Gem & scope of web testing in
industry. She also demonstrated the coding in Ruby for testing the Links, Selection boxes, text boxes,
radio buttons, check boxes, images in website. She encouraged the students to study Ruby language and
to do web testing using it.
Interview Techniques & Etiquettes:
Mrs. Nandita Ray delivering a lecture on Interview Techniques & Etiquettes
An Expert Lecture on “Interview Techniques & Etiquettes” was organized by the Computer Department
on 23rd
January 2012 for the students of Second & Third year. The expert was Mrs. Nandita Ray Director,
Ray’s Academy, and Nashik. Mrs. Ray gave the guidance on How to prepare for interview? , presenting
yourself in the interview, attire during interview, manners & etiquettes for interview, How to answer
typical questions in the interview etc. The students asked doubts about interview questions and Mrs. Ray
satisfied the students by answering those questions. This lecture found very beneficial especially for third
year students for their future carrier.
Carrier Guidance in Computer Hardware & Networking:
A seminar on “Carrier Guidance in Comp. Hardware & Networking” was organized by the Computer
Department on 28th January 2012 for the students of Second & Third year. The experts were Ms. Priya
Jain Center Supervisor and Mr. Amol Daware, Sr. Technical faculty, Jetking, Nashik Centre. In this
seminar they discussed the need of Computer hardware & networking in IT field, hierarchy of
designations in IT industry, knowledge & skills required for hardware Engg. They also guided on the job
opportunities in the field of hardware & networking. The students enjoyed the seminar by understanding
the importance of computer hardware & networking and job opportunities in this field.

Lean Management
Mrs.S.S.Chandgude delivering lecture on ‘Lean Management’ to all students of Electronic
&Communication Engg. Department
Department of Electronics & Communication has organized an Expert Lecture on “Lean Management”,
on 19th Jan 2012 for all students of the department. The lecture was conducted by Mrs.S.S.Chandgude,
Head of Department of Electronics & Communication. The topic covered was:
1. Removal of waste is the objective of lean practice.
2. Systematic approach of identifying and eliminating waste (non value added activities) through
continuous improvements in persuit of perfection
3. Creating a culture of continuous improvements.
4. The right part at the right time in the right amount.
Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp:
Inauguration of Rotary Club Camp at Mahiravani & Amboli, near Trimbak
Rock Climbing done by Ms. Badgujar Sayali student of SYCM
The Rotary Club arranged a camp at Mahiravani & Amboli, near Trimbak which is coordinated by
Mrs.S.S.Chandgude, HOD (ET) from 6/1/12 to 8/1/12. For this camp, 26 students from all department of
K.K.Wagh Women’s Polytechnic where participated, which is conducted for 3 days. Within 3 days of the
program the personality development, leadership public speaking, career planning, eco-friendship, Time
Management, yoga, skits & more such activities were conducted for the students. These sessions were
designed to bring out the inborn talents and skills of young people and to train them to utilize these talents
and skills to perfection, thus enabling them to lead a better and successful life.
Educational Trip
Electronics and Telecommunication dept has arranged an educational trip from 12
th Jan 2012 to 13
th Jan
2012 at Alibag. Student visited different historical places such as Murud Janjira. Student also enjoyed
Alibag beach. This trip proved memorable to final year students and staff.

Industrial Visit BSNL, Satpur, Nashik:
Third year Computer students at BSNL mobile Exchange, Satpur, Nashik
An industrial visit to BSNL, Satpur, and Nashik was arranged by Dept. of Computer Technology on 16th
January 2012 for the third year students. Mr. P. N. Joshi, Sr. faculty of Circle Telecom Training Center
explained various technical terms related to mobile communication, evolution of mobile technology-1G,
2G, 3G & 4G, frequency bands used for mobile communication, various channels used-TCH,
CCH,BCCH, Base Trans-Receive station(BTS), Base switch Controller(BSC), Mobile Switch
Controller(MSC), Different registers of MSC and overall structure of BSNL. After understanding the
technical details of BSNL mobile communication, the students had a visit to mobile exchange of BSNL.
Mr. N. Joshi demonstrated the internal structure & working of BTS, BSC & MSC. He also has shown the
various electronics cards, their interconnectivity, management of voice calls, data calls, recording
information of customers & technical details of calls etc.

An industrial visit to internet section of BSNL at Canada corner, Nashik was arranged by Dept. of
Computer Technology on 27th January 2012 for the second year students. Mr. P. N. Joshi, Sub. Divisional
Engg., and Mr. Jayant Kale, faculty of Circle Telecom Training Center, Nashik explained &
demonstrated networking units (DSLAM) & required infrastructure for internet service, working of
servers, modems and switches, communication with Servers, data transmission & reception technologies,
the minimum & maximum speed of internet provided to Users. In this visit the students got the clear idea
about how BSNL provides internet services to customers and infrastructure of BSNL for it.
‘Silicon Valley’ by the Second Year Information Technology Students:
An industrial visit was arranged for the second year students of Information technology department on
25th January 2012. Mr. Pankaj Gokhale gave an introduction of ‘Silicon Valley’ to the students. Mr.
Sunil Sonawane (Trainer, Silicon Valley) explained the basics of networking like devices used for
networking, their working and practical applications. He also conducted a practical session wherein the
students were shown the various networking devices a, their working and configuration. Lastly he also
gave the information to the students of choosing networking as a career option and various opportunities
available in the field. The students got an overview about the networking field.
Mr. Sunil Sonawane (Trainer, Silicon Valley) explaining about the Networking Devices
Petrol pump Ms.Kamod & Company,Nashik:
A study visit was organized by Electronics and Telecommunication dept for First year students at Petrol
Pump owned by Mr.Kamod & Co. Nashik on 10th Jan 2012. The objective behind this visit was to
introduce students about the working of Petrol Pump. Mr.Shivaji supervisor explained the step wise
procedure right from emptying the container into the tank up to fuel filling into vehicle, different
electronic counters and displays used at petrol pump.

Godavari Mobile Centre, Nashik:
On 13th Jan 2012, Electronics and Telecommunication dept has arranged a visit to Godavari Mobile
Center, Nashik for final year student’s .This center introduces mobile repairs & troubleshooting
techniques. Mr. Kapil Satpute proprietor of Godavari Mobile Centre explained types of mobile displays
such as LCD, LED, TFT and its testing. He also explained different power supply, IC’s, working of
mobile circuits and its software’s. He gives demo of how to find different problems in mobile handset and
how to recover those using different tools. He also gave information of latest technologies used in mobile
handset such as Bluetooth, android operating system, 3G network and information of latest handset which
supports these technologies. This visit proved beneficial to students as they got overall idea about
working of mobile handsets & it’s repairing.

Chem Equipment, Nashik:
A study visit was organized for First year students of Electronics and Telecommunication engineering
department on 25th Jan 2012 at Chem Equipment Satpur, Nashik. The main objective of this visit was to
make students aware about manufacturing process and application of Printed Circuit Board. Mr. Nitin
Pasrit explained the process of cutting, etching, drilling, green masking, legend painting, soldering and
testing. Mr. Parit also explains types of PCB’s such as single sided, double sided and how to identified
quality of PCB before get it in use. He also explains the manufacturing process of PCB including PCB
layout design using software such as protel. This visit proved beneficial to students as they got overall
idea about PCB designing & manufacturing.

Satyam Technocrats, Nashik:
A study visit was organized by Electronics and Telecommunication dept for second year students at
Satyam Technocrats Nashik on 30th Jan 2012. The objective behind this visit was to introduce students to
PLC and SCADA language that are used in company. This industry is small scale manufacturer of PLC.
SCADA, relays, Switches. Servo systems, sensors, Energy meters, Control Panels. Mr. Manoj More,
project engineer explained the process of Control Panels also showed types of Sensors, relays that are
used in Control Panels. He gave the information about Proximity Sensors to detect ferrous & nonferrous
metal objects. He also explained Omron PLC based control panel of capacitor testing for high voltage
test, Infra red test. This visit proved beneficial to students as they got overall idea about working of
Control Panels and overall idea about proximity sensors and relays.

BSNL Satpur exchange , Nashik:
A study visit was organized by Electronics and Telecommunication dept for Third year students at BSNL
Satpur exchange, Nashik on 17th Jan 2012. During this visit students got the opportunity to study different
modulation techniques, application of Digital Subscriber lines and Call Switching procedure. Mr. P.M.
Joshi executive engineer explain working of BSNL Routers. He also gave brief details about history of
GSM, architecture of GSM, different latest technology in mobile communication such as 1G, 2G & 3G.
Students got the idea about cell splitting, handoff process, working of BTS, BSC & MSC. Along with this
the staff of BSNL also guided the students regarding future scope in BSNL. This visit proved beneficial
to students as they got overall idea about communication techniques used in telephone system.

Department of Electronics & Communication has arranged Industrial Visit to “Aakashwani Kendra”
Gangapur Road, Nasik on 25th Jan 2012 of SYET students. In this visit learned and observed various
types of Antenna available, recording process, announcement procedure, editing of recorded data, power
amplifiers & existing, transmitting antenna.
Silver Oak House
Department of Electronics & Communication has arranged Industrial Visit to “Silver Oak
House”, Food processing plant & Botanical Garden, Adgaon, Nasik on 14th
Jan 2012 of TYET,
SYET, and FYET students. In this visit, learn about process of dry grapes, plantation &
processing of coffee. And also about the botanical garden which includes Adulsa, Aloe Vera,
Black Pepper, Sarpagandha, Velachi etc.

Quiz Competition- “Quiz-Mos12”:
The Department of Computer Technology has organized an interdepartmental Quiz Competition named
“Quiz-Mos 12” on 30th January 2012 for third year students of all courses. Total 30 students participated
in the event. The Quiz was constituted by three rounds – Aptitude round, Technical round & general
round. The Quiz competition was inaugurated by Prof. Mrs. V. R. Khapli, Principal. The event was
coordinated by Mrs. A. J. Jadhav, Lecturer in Computer along with Ocean students association under the
guidance of Mr. H. M. Gaikwad, Head of the Computer Dept. Ms. Nayan Gandule and Ms. Ketaki Ponde
were the winners. The audian students enjoyed the quiz by gaining the technical as well as general
knowledge.
“Quiz-mos 12”-Quiz Competition for Third year students
Blind Coding Competition
The Information Technology Department of K.K.Wagh Women’s Polytechnic had arranged a ‘Blind
Coding Competition’ on 6th January 2012 for the Second and Third Year students. The programming
language for the Second year students was ‘C++’ and that for the third year students was ‘Java’.
Prof.Mrs..V.R.Khapli (Principal, K.K.Wagh Women’s Polytechnic, and Nasik) inaugurated the
competition and guided the students regarding the importance of it. The students were given a time slot of
one hour wherein they were told to type the programs with monitor screens switched off. The motive of
the competition was strengthening the algorithm writing and coding skills of the students. Mrs.N.R.Patil
(Head of Information Technology Department) judged the competition for third year students, First prize
was awarded to Ms.Vishakha Patil and Second prize was secured by Ms.Sanyogita Dhakane.
Ms.N.D.Desail (Lecturer, Information Technology Department) judged the competition for second year
students, First prize was awarded to Ms.Apurva Nagpure and Second prize was secured by Ms.Surbhi
More.
Students engrossed in ‘Blind Coding’
Campus View competition:
‘Campus View’, a photography competition was organized by the Information technology department for
the students of second and third year on 28th January 2012. Theme for the competition was college
campus. The students collected various photographs of the campus and colleges and then presented the
same using various software’s and tools. Mrs.S.S.Chandgude (Head of Electronics and Communication
Department) judged the competition. First Prize was awarded to Ms.Priya Mate (Second Year
Information Technology) and Second Prize was awarded to Ms.Pranjal Gadakh and Ms.Jayashree Dhikale
(Third Year Information Technology)

Best from Waste Competition:
Best from Waste Competition was organized by Electronic & Communication department on 28
th Jan
2012 based on the topic “Best from Waste” in which all TYET, SYET & FYET students were
participated. The main purpose behind this activity was to focus on the usage of waste material in day to
day life. In this, the students gave tremendous thought over it & conveyed it through by using waste
material. The judge for the competition was Ms.Nikita Desai, Lecturer from Information Technology
Department and Mr.H.M.Gaikwad, HOD of Computer Department they observed each product and
selected the best among them. Miss Meghana Chitte got First Prize and Miss Sampada Deore got Second
prize from SYET and from TYET Miss Sujatha Khairnar got First Prize, Miss Neha Zope got Second
Prize. This competition was guided by Mrs. S.S.Chandgude, Head of the Electronics and Communication
department. All the Staff of Electronics and Communication department worked together to make it a
success.
