He loves us without limit, and offers Himself to us in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist.

Can we not give Jesus a few minutes of love and adoration in return?

On the third Tuesday of each month, our Council participates in the Eucharistic Adoration at the Church Chapel. We are assigned the 5:30 to 6:00 pm time period. The Council’s next Eucharistic Adoration will be on Tuesday, August 18th.

The peace of Christ be with you and your families.

Our first month of the new fiscal year 2015-2016 has come to an end and I am happy to reportIt wasn’t too bad. We have all the service program directors filled with some excellent talent.

This month we completed our first service project by pressure washing the court yard and five entries Into church and the Church Hall. Thanks again to Bros. Joe, Charlie, Dale and Mike for their hard work. They really worked up a sweat or was that the water from the pressure machines. I think it was a little bit of both.

we will just be a bunch of men doing the same thing. This is your council and we need your input and ideas to be successful. To give you an example some brothers brought up that we should put a notice in the bulletin and I am happy to report as of the July 26th bulletin that happened and we will continue that practice as long as space allows. Another idea brought forth to have an ad on the back of the bulletin and that too has been done and the ad should appear before September. You will see a new display board at our meetings listing upcoming events and sign up sheets awaiting your signature. Thanks to DGK Joe for that idea. So, you see, we are listening to you.

At our meetings our canned food program was off to a nice start. Three Brothers remembered to bring 3 to 5 canned foods or dry food for the needy. In doing so they ate and drank free at the meeting, all others had to ante up $3 to eat in our campaign called “when you eat…we all eat”. So please remember to bring your food for the needy to the meetings. We are also entertaining having a Triva Night on our social nights opened to other church organizations or other Knight Council’s to try and generate fun and some cash reserve too.

You may have seen the news pieces

on Planned Parenthood and some of their doctors explain how they secure organs from aborted babies and sell them. It was very difficult to watch. We have two programs coming in the next few months to combat that, it is our 40 Days for Life Campaign that we do with our diocese and our Baby Bottle drive that supports the Sarasota Pregnancy Center. Let’s have our best support yet for these two programs. As Catholics we are called to defend life….all life!

In closing I’d like to thank my officers for their support and cooperation as we journey together to share the values of the Knights and our Church with others. Your energy can be contagious and will draw others to our fold.

Thanks to all of the Council for your kind words and I enjoy working and having fun together. God Bless you and your families.

Also, remember Sept. 20th is our Incarnation Family Fun day at the parish to celebrate Pope Francis’ visit to the US. More information will be available at the meetings.

Vivat Jesus!

Congratulations to the seven New Brothers in District #52! On July 2nd, seven Brothers completed their First

Degree Exemplification at Our Lady of Victory Council #3358 – five from Father John J. Walsh Council #7052 and two from St. Thomas More Council #7826. A great start for the new fraternal year!

On July 10th – 11th, I attended the Annual State Organizational Meeting. Membership recruitment and retention was the focus of the meeting. With regards to membership, once again this year’s theme is “One Member Per Council, Per Month” – it’s a mindset to action! Council Membership Directors should be working now with their Grand Knights and Field Agents in developing their Membership Recruitment Plan. Supremes’ “Leadership Guide for Membership Recruitment” is an excellent reference document.

Just as important as membership recruitment is membership retention. This year, the Florida State Council has developed ”Save A Knight Program.” Its focus is having District Deputies, Grand Knights, Financial Secretaries, Field Agents, Membership Directors and now RETENTION DIRECTORS working together to “retain not suspend” a Brother Knight.

Think You Are Too Old for Coverage? Maybe Not

You are never too young or too old to consider purchasing life insurance. If you have a financial need for coverage, or will in the future, a permanent life insurance policy can be just the thing you need. When you are young and presumably healthy, coverage will be very inexpensive when compared to purchasing the same policies when you are older. If you’ve put off purchasing coverage, or you realize that you may need additional insurance, the Order may still be able to help you, even if other companies cannot. In fact, in 2012, the issue age of our permanent life insurance products was extended to age 80. Naturally, your health, and whether or not you smoke, will be taken into consideration, so underwriting standards for risk and age apply. But, the extension is a great blessing for me – and it could be for you too. Now I can help members that I couldn’t help before. Are you or one of your brother knights one of those members?

Whether you’re 18 or 80, the Knights of Columbus has products that will work

Council Grand Knights, Deputy Grand Knights, Chancellors or Membership Directors and Financial Secretaries will be hearing a great deal about membership recruitment and retention at the Tri-District Organizational Meeting on August 8th at St. Patrick Council #13307. And on Sunday, August 18th at St. Joseph Council #5604, State Deputy will head the list of speakers at the Regional Membership Seminar. All Council Grand Knights, Deputy Grand Knights, Chancellors or Membership Directors and Financial Secretaries are required to attend.

The next First Degree Exemplification will be held on August 20th at St. Patrick Council #13307 at 7:00 pm. On September 17th, a First Degree Exemplification is scheduled at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Council #13639, and the following week – September 24th – a Second Degree will be held. Those two Degrees will begin at 7:00 pm. And, a Third Degree Exemplification will be held on October 17th at Our Lady of Victory Council #3358 at 11:00 am. So the next two months will be an excellent time to recruit new Members who can complete all three Degree Exemplifications in a short period of time.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUSDAY AT THE BALL PARK

On Sunday, October 4th, join your Brother Knights and families for the 8th Annual Knights of

Columbus Family Fun Day at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The Tampa Bay Rays will take on the Toronto Blue Jays, which will be the last game of the regular season. All kids 14 and under will receive a Raymond Halloween Mask. Game time is 3:10 pm. This is a time change from the original 1:40 pm start time. “CLEAN UP, FIX UP, PAINT UP” PROJECT

In the 2015-2016 Service Program Plan, the Council planned a “Clean Up, Fix Up, Paint Up” project for the Incarnation Parish and/or School during the summer vacation. Grand Knight Deacon John Crescitelli contacted Church and School Maintenance Supervisor about any projects that the Council could undertake. He suggested that all the painted ramps and steps into the Church and Church Hall needed to be power washed and painted.

On July 21st, Deputy Grand Knight Joe DeStefano, Financial Secretary/District Deputy Charlie Culkin, Trustee/Youth Director Dale Haas and Outside Guard Mike Gangi manned four power-washers and cleaned all the Church and Church Hall ramps and steps as well as the plaza bricks outside of the Church. After four hours of hard work, everything was clean. The next step is to paint the ramps and steps of the Church and Church Hall – if it ever stops raining!

Thanks Joe, Charlie, Dale and Mike for a job well done!

deal!! All proceeds will go to KofC Florida State Council Charities, Inc.

The Rays are “Going Green.” Carpool to Tropicana Field on that day with four or more passengers and you will get FREE parking. For vehicles with fewer than four passengers, parking will cost $10-$15 depending on location. This year, we will be forming carpools, which will leave from the Incarnation Parish parking lot, so we can get more Members to attend the game as well as get free parking.

For the past four years, a group of Incarnation Council Brothers and family members have attended this game. We joined 2,000 other Florida State Council Brothers and their families. We have always had a great time. Moreover, the Rays have usually won the game! The highlight of the day – other than seeing the Rays win – was watching a local KofC Assembly Colors Corps march in from center field to present the colors before the playing of the National Anthem.

The deadline to order tickets is August 31st. At the August 11th Council Business Meeting, Financial Secretary Charlie Culkin will have a sign-up sheet for the game. Please make your checks payable to Incarnation Council #15332.

See you at the Ball Park!!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

August 1st and 2nd (Saturday and Sunday) – The St. Vincent DePaul Society will conduct its Annual School Supply Drive to benefit the children served by St. Michael’s Parish in Wauchula. Some of the many items needed are composition and spiral notebooks, colored pencils, markers, pencils and pens, binders, pocket folders, erasers and glue sticks. Your donation is vitally important in helping with the current critically low blood supply. One hundred blood transfusions take place in our local area every single day. So, the need is great and it never stops! A small token of appreciation for your blood is a coupon for a pint of Culver Custard Ice Cream – a pint for a pint. You are never too old to donate blood!

more Catholic families with our fraternal benefits. Here is a simple, step-by-step process to get the Council started.

First, talk with your Pastor. Ask him to help identify the following Prospective Members:

• Men he thinks would be a good fit for the Knights of Columbus.• Families that have recently registered with the Parish or are new in the area.• Newlyweds recently married in the Parish.

Next, assign each Prospective Member to a recruiter. When making assignments, consider Members’ friendships, relationships and networks.

• Are the Recruiter and Prospective Member already acquainted?• Are they co-workers?• Do their kids go to school together?

The invitation to join the Knights of Columbus will be more compelling if it comes from a friend.

Finally, invite the Prospective Members to participate in Council activities and to join the Knights of Columbus.

• Invite them to attend an Open House followed by a Council service project.• Include a letter in the New comers welcome package and invite them to a social event so they can meet other Parishioners and Council Members.• Send a card and small gift to a newlywed - this small gesture can make a big difference.• Assist them with the application process then attend their First Degree Ceremonial.

With your help, we can make our Parish and Council more vibrant.

AUGUST 2015: MONTH OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

Don’t forget to check out our website for more information on Incarnation Council #15332.

The month of August is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart. Since the 16th century Catholic piety has assigned entire months to special devotions. The month of August is traditionally dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The physical heart of Mary is venerated (and not adored as the Sacred Heart of Jesus is) because it is united to her person and is the seat of her love (especially for her divine Son), virtue, and inner life. Such devotion is an incentive to a similar love and virtue.

ONE MEMBER, PER COUNCIL, PER MONTH

Membership growth is essential to the success of the Knights of Columbus. With the addition of each new member, the Order can better serve the Church, local communities and particularly those in need. But it isn’t just the Order that benefits from a new member. Each new Knight benefits also.

Since its beginnings the organization has promoted the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. Knights contribute to the welfare of their parishes and communities, and seek to help the needy through financial and volunteer support. In addition to the fellowship and faith development that Knights enjoy through their affiliation, the Knights offer a top-rated and competitively priced insurance program for the security of member families.

Please do your part as a member of Incarnation Council #15332 to recruit a new Knight.
