Our Mission

Faster, safer and more accurate – HeadcountOur mission is to improve the safety and security of personnel working in hazardous environments. To do this, we have developed a range of specialist hardware and software products for the automation of Person On Board and Person On Site (POB – Off-shore / POS – On-shore) information at site access and muster assembly points and for the location of personnel. Whilst the primary function of this technology is to enhance safety, it can also be used for access control and security purposes, managing personnel logistics and automatically recording time and attendance on-site.

Rules & Regulations –Raising Global HSE standardsThere are three primary standards used around the world alongside local legislation that place specific responsibilities on employers and define minimum requirements for the safety and security of personnel: 99/92/EC ATEX 137 & The Dangerous Substance and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR) in Europe and, in the USA, NFPA 1600.

Minimum information required by all of these standards is reliable and accurate Person On Site (POS) or Board (POB) data.

Our products are ATEX and IECEx certified (in accordance with ATEX directive 2014/34/EU), S3 ID use patented technology and are time proven in operation with a large installed base of working systems.

Why Automate POB / POS & Mustering?

In the event of a major incident, oil, gas and petrochemical plants pose inherent dangers to persons on site due to the explosive and toxic nature of the products present. It is the duty of the plant operator to have an emergency or crisis management plan to recover from such an event promptly with priority regard for the health and safety of persons. The plan will usually trigger the deployment of internal and/or external emergency services such as medical, fire fighting and rescue services.

In all cases of a major incident it is crucial for the emergency response service to know exactly who was present on the site at the time of the incident and exactly who is accounted for after the incident, usually at muster points, so that any persons unaccounted for may be searched for and rescued. Manual systems can be used but are subject to human error and take precious time to collate, interpret and disseminate information.

An automatic system requires no manual operation or human intervention to provide real time information of Personnel On Site and persons safely mustered

post incident. The system information is available instantaneously at multiple locations on and off site.

We supply solutions that provide real-time personnel location awareness, mustering and access control. Depending on the technology chosen, solutions can provide various degrees of accuracy ranging from a general area or zone to an exact location in 3D. These products can also be used to control movements of personnel from one part of a plant to another, for example bridge tracking on off-shore installations to ensure that lifeboat capacity is not exceeded, or to proactively manage evacuations in a crisis. Such solutions can also provide enhanced post incident information to rescue services by highlighting the last known location of missing persons immediately prior to the incident. This information is used to direct search and rescue teams quickly and accurately.

How Our Solutions Work

The key to all our solutions is gaining positive ‘locational awareness’ of personnel. To obtain this we allocate a unique ID tag to each individual working on an installation. Tags come in various forms; RFID (passive or active), UHF (Checkpoint), Ultra Wide Band or GPS, technology. These tags are then monitored by appropriate sensors which report back to a central system to provide ‘positive location awareness’ of each individual or even, where required, ‘track’ their movements in real-time for safety purposes.

As well as being used to know where your personnel are, for example to control the maximum Personnel On Board an installation, tags can also be used for rapid electronic

mustering, access control and security purposes. Tags can even be used to control permits to work and electronically validate ‘permissions’ allowing only authorised personnel to use specific control systems by automatically granting (or denying) them access subject to their status on the central database. Even time and attendance at a given location can be recorded if required. Beyond these more common uses, knowing the location of all personnel in a crisis can also enable pro-active crisis management of the situation.

MISSING PERSONNEL LOCATOR

Our certified eMuster™ products offer a range of solutions for automating post incident or drill muster registration processes to fully comply with today’s standards.

Confirmed muster products offer positive identification and verification of each person attending the muster station on full colour screens or single or multiple line displays with optional colour coded indication lamps and audible warning devices. Automatic muster products are also available with or without name identification displays. Both types of system will automatically deal with unregulated scenarios such as personnel at the wrong muster station or mustering at more than one location. In all cases muster registration is achieved by hands free and non contact operations. All of our systems provide immediate visibility of who is present and who is missing to all interested parties both locally at the muster station and remotely at multiple locations via the intranet.

eMuster™ SoftwareIn the data centre our eMuster™ software adds additional functionality to the eLocator™ suite providing both detailed and overview information of all musters in easy to use graphical formats along with comprehensive muster and missing persons reporting tools.
