Head Coach Kevin Walden Kevin Walden has a depth of experience virtually unmatched in a young coach— from playing on a conference contender to coaching a last-to-first turn-around. Named the Prairie Fire head men’s basketball coach in 2012, Walden came to Knox from Warren Wilson College, where in four years, he guided the team to its first winning campaign in nearly 30 years, a top-ten na- onal ranking, and an improvement in its overall GPA from 2.5 to 3.04. Prior to taking over the program at Warren Wilson in 2008, Walden was an assistant to Knox College coaching legend Tim Heimann from 2001 to 2006, then an associate head men’s basketball coach at St. Ambrose University. A 2001 Knox graduate, Walden was a four-year varsity leer winner for the Prairie Fire. He started at forward for the 1999-2000 Knox team that finished second in the Midwest Conference. Walden was named team captain for the 2000-01 season, received the Harley Knosher Award, and was voted most valuable senior, most valuable player, and most valuable offensive player.
