Didier Drogba is a two-time African Footballer of the year, and has also been voted Chelsea Football Club’s Best footballer ever. Drogba made his rst international appearances for the Ivory Coast team in 2002 and by 2007 had scored 28 goals, a record for his country. He was a catalyst in catapulting the national team, nicknamed "the Elephants," into World Cup for the very rst time in 2006. Drogba has attempted to use his standing for good purposes. With the Ivory Coast ravaged by civil war in 2006, Drogba led the Elephants in prayers for peace and organized a joint plea calling for an end to the war, eorts that were credited with helping to bring about a cease-re.

He is now the most celebrated UN Goodwill Ambassador in Africa and has single-handedly ended the ve-year long civil war in Ivory Coast.

Tebily Didier Yves Drogba is the beacon of hope for all oppressed folk not just in West Africa, but all over the world. Coming from a modest background in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Drogba grew up amidst poverty, and a lot of violence stemming from the Ivorian Civil War. Having qualified for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Drogba made a plea to the warring factions in Ivory Coast to end the Civil War. And they complied. He has made astronomical charitable contributions worldwide , and has truly earned a place for himself in motivational folklore.

From Pauper to King, the story of Didier Drogba fills one’s soul up with some hot soup.

Every 10 years, a new revolution in technology emerges which changes the way people function. This time it’s the confluence of SMAC - Social Media, Mobile Technologies, Analytics and Cloud - which creating huge waves in the IT industry. Not only people, it changes the DNA of business processes, and hence the entire ecosystem in which a business operates. Statistics have a dierent story to tell. Professionals with SMAC skills account for a mere 1-2% out of a 3 million IT workforce in India. However, they contribute close to 5-10% of their company's revenues. This is an indicator of the huge potential in store for the Indian IT industry, which is estimated to be a $225 billion (Rs.13.5 trillion) industry by 2020, according to IDC. It has also prompted large IT organizations to tap this niche sector and acquire a talent pool of SMAC skills - data scientists, statisticians, social media marketing professionals, technologists, business analysts, strategists and domain experts.

Let’s look at how these four interplay and weave together to form a strong structure for business development.

Social Networking and Social Media: Social Media is a powerful medium not only for catching up but also for business. It is a great place to evaluate consumer dynamics, then accordingly micro-target and place your products/services! The immense information exchange happening on social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Quora, Pinterest..) leaves a trail of useful data that can be put to use for determining the 4 Ps of your marketing strategy and other business decisions. Social Networking also gives you a chance to delve deeper into consumer behaviour by directly engaging in interactive and meaningful

communication with your prospects.

Mobility: Anytime, Anywhere and Any Device convenience is driving the new age consumer nowadays. Mobility has far surpassed the status of a value added feature - it is now a necessity, a demand. Therefore, organizations need to embrace this approach to cater to changing user patterns, and create next generation business applications that foster productivity, convenience and creativity for the end user.

Analytics: With an explosion of information on the web, there's an inexorable need to decipher that information in order to make it relevant, useful and manageable. Use of Business Analytics tools and SMAC skills constructively can oer valuable insights into the consumer mind, which can help you dierentiate your business from the rest in more ways than you thought possible.

Cloud Computing: SMAC skills leverage cloud computing by analyzing huge volumes of data generated on social media to arrive at benecial business propositions. The next big thing in IT industry is to determine how organizations can blend SMAC skills into their business strategy to get maximum returns.

Undoubtedly, transitioning to SMAC Technologies and skills can oer organizations competitive advantages, rapid growth charts, and not to forget market leadership too. It now depends on how Indian IT organizations take this forward from here.

The latest buzz in the technology indus-try - Google Glass is also the most antici-pated gadget of recent times. Innovation at its best, this tech has got everyone talking. Some are deeming it to be the Holy Grail of Technology. While some condemn its use so much so, it's already been banned at certain places. So what is it exactly which makes Google Glass the mother of all controversy? Let's find out.Imagine you crash a high prole event wearing your new "Glasses". You breeze through the security checkpoint because you may be asked to put your bag and laptop in the scanning machine and remove your jacket, but you won't be asked to remove your glasses. Once inside, with just a touch on the sideband of your glasses, you scan the entire area, get information about the event's host, its guest list, seating plan and the program itinerary. The built in miniature camera on your specs extracts everything in the vicinity and a small screen displays the minutest of details you may need. Now just as you begin to greet others, you quickly switch on face recognition to locate the host and get details about other guests. With just a nod of your head and blink of an eye, you activate picture blogging feature and Google Glass starts taking pictures every ve seconds, wher-ever your gaze follows.

This may sound like a scene from some futuristic Hollywood movie. But the future is here and now. Google Glass is a reality and this is exactly how people can

take advantage of a path breaking technology. While the thought and precision behind this invention is undoubtedly matchless, it does raise quite a few concerns with respect to privacy. Let's address these concerns one by one.

PrivacyGoogle Glass is under scanner because of its ability to carry out covert surveillance by known or unknown individuals. Since it is always on, there's no way of discovering whether or not a person is recording.

Banned at WorkWork policies and condentiality concerns have forced some companies to ban their employees from wearing Google Glasses. Places such as concerts, movie theatres specically do not allow these because of the very nature of their business.

ControversyThe argument over whether Google Glass is a boon or a bane will rage on, with supporters fervently advocating the validity of their claims. While there may be many skeptics, it wouldn’t hurt to remember the time when smart phones with in-built cameras were also seen with suspicion. The controversy regarding use or misuse of technology will always be there, what matters is which side of the aisle are you on?

From the Desk of a TechieMy love and passion for travelling and ethical hacking brought me to Koenig. Since the day I joined, I am relishing both these passions extensively. Travelling across the globe, and preaching how to secure yourself in the cyberspace is like living the life of my dreams. I have been to 5 dierent continents and today I would love to share one of my travel experiences to Maldives - the land of sun, sand and beaches.

When I landed in Male (capital of Maldives), I was spellbound by the uniqueness of the airport itself. I could see huge sea waves hitting hard along the shore, just about 25 meters away from the runway.

The next best thing I noticed was the fun

December, 2014 Edition 1, Page 4

loving people of Maldives when I saw my client who came to pick me up with a placard that said "Kevin Mitnick". Kevin Mitnick is a famous hacker and I had a good laugh courtesy their witty sense of humor. From airport, if you need to reach city, transportation is either by fast boats or you need to ride the water plane.

Here are the five must see places in Maldives, according to me:(1) Banana Reef: is the most sought after diving site in the Maldives.

(2) Male City: The capital city, and the best place for people who are born to shop.

(3) Bluetribe Moofushi: This diving center oers the best experience in terms of water sports activities such as windsurng, diving, snorkelling, kayak-ing, riding on catamarans/pedal boats, and many more exciting activities.

(4) Kurumba Island: Best place to experience beautiful and calm sunset.

(5) Ithaa: World’s first all-glass undersea restaurant.

With this my journey came to a beautiful climax, and I had one more destination checked o from my list of must visit destinations. Satinder Singh Sandhu, Sr. Corporate Trainer, Security Testing, Koenig Solutions
