-Towards the end of the music video the peace of the editing increases with the beat of the music

-The cross fade transitions between him shots of the rock star life style and him show his double life

-Stuck between his emotions and the life he leads

-Shots of the girl friend are very short in time, this he’s missing her as these a snippets of memory's

-Close up to show his emotions when singing corresponding lyrics

-When he sings “use somebody” we cut to a close up of his holy cross, shows he’s asking for help

-Aerial shots of the city – traveling around, rock start life

-Towards the end of the music video three similar shots are repeated. It shows he’s on the road, staying in hotels and performing. It’s taking a strain on him

Mise en scene

- In shots of just him he’s wearing very casual clothing, showing his private side

- When as group they wear similar clothing, with glasses. Show’s their unity. Show’s he’s part of them and feels comfortable

- Very low level lighting to express his sad, glum mood

- Only shot with day light is when he’s relaxing with him friends. Show’s she is not on his mind at the time

- -Black and white shots show’s hes at work. Personal life is in colour

Modern representation of a man he’s very open with his emotions

The cross fade edit has been used to show this double life and how he feels stuck between the situation he’s in. The sings the line “need somebody” as he reaches for his holy cross. Showing he is gasping for help

In the shots of just him self he wears casual clothes, also linking to the shots of him singing alone this shows he feels unprotected and empty.

Later on we cut to a shot of the entire band singing, they are all wearing the same clothing and the lighting is much brighter showing he feels comfortable and relaxed with them

Towards the end of the music video it quickly cuts between three very similar shots to create and shot repeat shot. These selection of shots show a continues repetition in his life.

The speed of these shots matches the beat of the music to give a very full on fast paced ending to the music video, as this is him expressing his frustration and emotional angry to the situation he’s in.
