Kruger National Park
Unforgettable Safari
It was a long road to Mpumalanga Province where Kruger National Park is located. But the weather was nice and the views were beautiful.
Our small team arrived there very early in the morning. At 5.00 am we were near entry gates and felt very exciting…
Welcome to the Kruger National Park, South Africa’s premier wildlife destination. The 18,989 square km Kruger National Park is one of the last truly unspoilt wilderness areas in Africa, where you will encounter lions, elephants, giraffe, zebra and an abundance of other wild animals in their natural habitat, as they have lived for thousands of years.

Interesting Facts
In 1869, a ‘gold rush’ exploded in the
region causing the number of game to
decrease dramatically due to hunting and trading of animal horns and skins. In 1884, President
Paul Kruger proposed that boundaries in the region be defined as
game reserves to protect the flora and
fauna, but his revolutionary vision was met with much
resistance.

River, Kruger National Park,
South Africa, is a sanctuary for
elephants, lions, leopards,
rhinoceroses, zebras,
wildebeests, impalas, and many birds.
It was really very interesting but a bit dangerous to walk in savannah but I used my best chance
It was a kind of adventure when an elephant came to our car very close. He was big and seemed a bit aggressive. We moved and he tried to attack another car.
The park was first proclaimed in 1898 as the Sabie Game Reserve and the area between the Sabie and Crocodile Rivers was set aside as official reserves. The Scottish-born James Stevenson-Hamilton was appointed the park’s first warden in 1902. Many accounts of the park’s early days can be found in the Stevenson-Hamilton Memorial Library. In 1926 the National Parks Act was proclaimed and with it the merging of the Sabie and Shingwedzi Games Reserves into the Kruger National Park.
