ปจจบนจะเหนไดวาการทำาการตลาดผานอเมล (E-mail marketing) เปนเครองมอทนกการตลาดในปจจบนใหความสำาคญ เพราะการใชอเมลในการโฆษณานนทำาใหสามารถเขาถงกลมลกคาไดหลากหลายและมตนทนทประหยด และจากการทบรษทตางๆ อาจมเนอหาทจะตองแจงใหลกคาทราบเปนจำานวนมาก ไมวาจะเปนแจงขาวสาร โปรโมชน หรอสวนลดตางๆ ทำาใหตองสงอเมลบอยๆ ซงการสงอเมลบอยๆ สงผลใหความนาเชอถอของอเมลลดลง และมกถกสงไปอยทอเมลขยะ (Junk mail หรอ Spam mail) ไดงาย ดงนน จงมผพฒนา SPF (Sender Policy Framework) ซงเปนวธการหนงทจะชวยใหอเมลทเราสงออกไปนนไดรบความนาเชอถอมากยงขน

การจะใชงาน SPF นน ผททำาหนาทสงอเมลจะตองตงคาทโดเมนของตนเอง โดยเพมคา TXT record เขาไปทระบบ DNS ซงการใช SPF เปนวธการหนงทชวยตรวจสอบวาอเมลทสงมาจากโดเมนนนๆ สามารถสงมาจาก IP Address อะไรไดบาง แตจะใชงานไดหรอไมนนกขนอยกบระบบของผรบดวยเชนกน วาม นโยบายการนำาคา SPF มาตรวจสอบหรอไม ผรบทมการนำาคา SPF มาตรวจสอบอยแลว ไดแก Hotmail และ Gmail เปนตน

หลกการทำางานของ SPF คอ เมอมการสงอเมลเขามายงเมลเซรฟเวอรปลายทาง ระบบของผสงจะบอกวาสงเมลมาจากอเมลอะไร ตดตอเขามาจาก IP Address ไหน จากนนเมลเซรฟเวอรปลายทางจะนำาขอมลตางๆ เหลานไปตรวจสอบ โดยการตดตอไปยง DNS Server เพอสอบถามขอมล SPF Record ของโดเมนอเมลผสง แลวนำาขอมลท ไดรบไปทำาการเปรยบเทยบกบคา IP Address ของผสงวาตรงกนหรอไม หากตรงกน กจะถอวาอเมลนนๆ มความนาเชอถอมากยงขน

ขอดของ SPF

1. ปองกนอเมลแอบอาง2. เพมความนาเชอถอใหกบอเมลของผสง3. ชวยลดเปอรเซนตทอเมลจะตกไปทอเมลขยะ (Junk mail)

E-mail marketing is one of key marketing tools used by marketers as an E-mail can reach variety groups of customers at low cost. Since a lot of E-mails are sent to customers, including promotional E-mails, sales event or other updates, these E-mails become unsolicited and may go to junk mail or spam mail box. The SPF is designed to prevent E-mail spam by detecting E-mail spoofing.

To use SPF, the senders need to change the setting in their domain. They have to add TXT records to the DNS. SPF then specifies which hosts are allowed to send mail from a given domain. However, whether this is working or not, it depends whether the receiver’s system can specify the allowed host - Hotmail and Gmail both do.

When an E-mail is sent to the terminal server, sender’s E-mail address and IP address will be detected. The server then verifies this information by contacting the DNS server and check the SPF Record of the sender’s E-mail domain to verify whether it matches with the sender’s IP address. If they match, then the E-mail has more value.

Advantages of SPF

1. Prevent fraud E-mail.2. Make the E-mail more valuable.3. Decrease chances that E-mails go to junk mail box.
