INSTRUCTORLori Robinson, OTR/L, CKTILori received her degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern
Kentucky University. She has worked in a variety of settings
including acute, subacute, comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation,
outpatient hand therapy, and home health with orthopedic and
neurologically involved patients. Since she began working with
the Kinesio Taping Method, Lori has used it with a wide range of
patients including those with total joint replacements, high/low
tone from CVA or TBI, edema problems and multiple hand
injuries/conditions. Lori developed and completed a research
study on Kinesio Taping for TKR, and presented the results at the
International Kinesio Taping Symposium in Tokyo, Japan in
March 2004. Lori currently works at Fidelity Health Care, as the
Rehab Supervisor. She enjoys being creative and finding new
ways to use Kinesio Taping to benefit any patient population. Lori
became a Certified Kinesio Taping Instructor in 1999 and was
awarded the Certified Kinesio Taping Instructor of the Year in
2011. Lori recently attended the 2012 Olympics to represent the
Kinesio Taping Association. While in London, she promoted
Kinesio Taping to the US Olympic Med ical Staff.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, including the lecture,demonstration and lab, the participant will be able to: Describe the concepts of Kinesio Taping. Review muscular anatomy as it is related to Kinesio Taping. explain and apply the concepts of the Kinesio Taping Method. Describe the unique qualities of the Kinesio Tex Tape. Recognize the principles of Kinesio Tex Tape application. Utilize and demonstrate application skills in guided laboratory
sessions. Demonstrate application skills during lab sessions. Practice the various cutting techniques and their cli nical application. Apply Kinesio Taping method to relax and stimulate muscles. Apply Kinesio Taping methods for pain, swelling, joint mobility and
stability. Apply various taping techniques for treatment of the spine, and upper/
lower extremity dysfunction Apply various taping techniques for treatment of unique conditions
using the concepts and principals of the Kinesio Taping Method.
