Ku-Ring-Gai Art Society
A Word from our President
This past year has been an ex-tremely active one for our Art Soci-ety, with a number of new initiatives implemented, great speakers, work-shops and 3 successful exhibitions.
As President I would especially like to thank our Executive Committee, most of whom like me, were new to their posts, and found new challeges all with focus and a valuable commitment to the Society. Their work has been very much appreciated and there has been a strong cohesive group headed up by Suzanne Lane and Judy Daniels as our Vice Presidents. I would like to particularly thank Eric Kahn for his continued long serving financial skills to the Society, Sally Coffey and Jeanne Walker for their invaluable advice and kind help during this past year.
Sadly however. a number of committee members and support persons, in various areas, have advised they are no longer available to keep doing much of the effort that keeps our Society running smoothly. Some have long been responsible for their roles and it is time for new members and those who are able, to provide new enthusiasm to the Society. (Many members of course, have helped in the past but we need new energy and enthusiasm in 2010.
We are unable to proceed in 2010 without a number of new volunteers to ‘step up to the plate’ to assist the Society. Therefore WE NEED YOU and request that when sending in your annual fee that you also nominate a role, even a minor role, on the list included in this newsletter.
On behalf of your 2009 Committee I would like to wish our members & friends, a very Happy New Year in 2010.

Our excellent tutors can now be paid for their time and effort as KAS members, who so generously gave their time, were not paid in past years. Special thanks to Vice President Judy Daniels who will co-ordinate workshops all of which will continue to run under the guidance of both Louise and Jean who will continue to run them so successfully. Thanks to you both for all of your efforts in 2009.
Our next workshop seeks to raise members awareness to the creative opportunities with com-puters and whilst many would say there is more fun with a free brush and pencil we can all be encouraged to learn a few new skills and begin to see the new exceptional advantages..
