Description

This release is to automate Lease Finance return, Monthly and Quarterly financial

statistics return as per APRA requirement for St George and Westpac divisions.

Created TI processes to load the data from Teradata table to TM1 with version controlling along with necessary transformation logics. Created derivation rules to calculate derived values dynamically. Modified the BTACT (Bulk Tag Adjustment Conversion Tool) tool to produce bulk tag adjustments for lease finance return. Description

The forecasting business process at Westpac is largely manual and conducted

through Excel. These are consolidated manually to gain a Group wide picture. This

disjointed process prevents organisation from leveraging common ground. Also there

are chances of introducing the errors due to the manual process and removing/fixing

these errors would add up to the cost of forecasting.

Hence to overcome the above limitations in the current process and to invest on a

new solution to achieve the following business objectives:

A more robust and efficient forecasting process with adequate controls.

Ability to support a 36-month rolling forecast process.

Faster turnaround of forecasts.

Better understanding of drivers’ impact.

Enhanced Scenario Planning.

Reduction of key person risks – Rotation of team members within teams should only

Description

Regulatory Reporting Services was initiated to work on new change requests raised

against RRS for future needs and in order to satisfy regulatory needs and to enhance

Westpac’s ability to meet the regulatory reporting requirements set by APRA and

RBA.

Added Mumbai branch report to International operations return submission with

automated Script.

Changed the project design to incorporate efficient coding by removing old inefficient

design. This greatly helps to create new reports in easy way.

Modified the BTACT (Bulk Tag Adjustment Conversion Tool) tool to produce bulk tag

adjustments dynamically.

Created the migration scripts and templates to remove inefficient design in the

Description

Strategic Marketing is a business that is constantly changing in step with the current

banking and general economic environment. In order for this area to be successful,

information must be available in an accurate and timely manner. The information is

also required to be recut in various shapes to reflect different requests that arise

around the cost base.

The current reporting process that is in place simply does not allow for timely

reporting. Similarly, the accuracy of the information produced is called into question

due to the level of manual intervention that is required. The current reporting process

is lengthy and requires a huge amount of manual work. Therefore, there is reduced

confidence around the output and a large scope for efficiencies to be achieved. There

was always a need for an automated reporting solution in strategic marketing with

minimal manual interventions. Business started looking into TM1 tool to automate the

reporting solution. The project aims to provide a streamlined and timely TM1 solution

that will enhance decision making and provide greater financial control.

Design and developed end to end solution.

Created the process to update account and cost center dimension hierarchies once

hierarchy table is updated by triggering process from Control - M.

Created the template as a user interface to load the actual data to the cubes on

adhoc basis and ability to copy actual values to Target category with appropriate

validations and user friendly messages.

Created the Drill process to see transactional data from summary cube.

Created dynamic rule to copy actual to forecast and target categories based on

Description

The objective of the Allocations project is to deploy a strategic allocation tool that

enables, flexible, transparent, controlled and automated (where possible)

allocations, across the Enterprise. The objectives of the BT Expense Allocation

project are to provide more robust and transparent expense allocations across the

BTFG. It is anticipated that improved traceability will enable allocation

methodologies to be more easily updated and enhanced, to reflect changing

economic conditions.

The Allocation tool will be used to drive expenses to Account, Cost Centre and

Product combinations, based on the rates that are either calculated from various

sources or entered manually by business users. Business users may define driver

information for the allocation process either manually, entered via a Web based

template, or by selecting an automatic source such as FUM / FUA Analysis Services

cube. The allocation process creates a journal file that is posted to the General

Ledger, once appropriate checks and balances have been completed.

Created a new driver type that is based on the Actual YTD GL balance of a product

for the prior month.

Created a new report to view driver and control changes submitted, listed by user.

Created a report which provides an option for approver to view all drivers and

control changes that are in a submitted state.

Added an option for approvers to see only approved drivers and control changes for

a selected user.

Target Report is a part of Business Reporting system. The primary source of

information for Target Report is Sybase IQ. Data from finance also acts as input to

Target system (Adjustments). Data stored are mainly categorized into core tables
