Kohinoor Continental hosted a Punjabi Food Festival - Punjabi Tadka - at its restaurant The Solitaire last month (January). They literally brought the

land of DDLJ (Diwaale Dulhania Le Jayenge) to Mumbai through this festival, with the robust Punjabi ambience, and of course, its mouth watering cuisine. The pictures say it all. The Food Festival proved to be a grand success.Mumbai ke Bahut se Dilwaale Punjab Daa Swaad Le Hi Gaye!

Kohinoor Blossoms Celebrates…

The little children of Kohinoor Blossoms came dressed to a T in colourful native clothes to represent the different states of our country to celebrate

Pongal, Makar Sankrant and Lohri. They presented an entertaining skit and dance depicting our age old traditions like worshipping the holy cow, making Pongal Rice, Til Laadoos and lighting the grand Lohri bonfire to celebrate the festival. All the staff members were dressed in traditional Indian attire to mark the festivals.

Students of Kohinoor Blossoms marked the birthday of the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose celebrated as Desh Prem Divas,

by dressing up as soldiers or in the tricolours. Some even dressed up as Netaji himself. Patriotic feelings were infused in the children by explaining the significance of the Indian National Flag to them. The children also befittingly danced to the tune of the popular deshbhakti song ‘Indiawaale’.

This year, Kohinoor Hospital planned a very special Valentine’s Day for its patients. The

patients were pleasantly surprised to receive beautiful letters from their near and dear ones expressing their deep love and concern for them. The hospital made the effort to give special Valentine’s Day Kohinoor Hospital Letterheads to the family members and relatives of the patients for them to write the letters and collected them well in advance to get them laminated by 14 February. The hospital staff then went around to each patient’s room on Valentine’s Day with their family members and relatives and presented the letters to them along with a small gift from the hospital. A truly noble gesture that touched the hearts of the patients and brought smiles to their faces!

You can see some of the lovely letters below

KTI’s Ambernath Branch Shines In The New Year

The Ambernath Branch of Kohinoor Technical Institute (KTI) has begun the New Year with a

bang by superseding its admission and collection targets for January 2016. Business Unit Manager (BUM) of the branch Sneha Kamthe achieved this feat by kickstarting the year with a number of innovative activities to engage and empower her team without neglecting the core business. The activities included a Career Guidance Seminar at Bhausaheb Paranjape High School; Campus Interview for students of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research & Training Institute (BARTI); Rozgar Melava at Ambernath Nagar Palika; Employee Engagement Activities like ‘College Days’, ‘Sports Competition’ and ‘New Year Celebrations’ and Marketing through Handbill Distribution.

That was not all. A Technical Exhibition on a huge scale was organized by the branch in the first week of January. This earned them a letter of appreciation from CEO Vidya Raut of Vidya Vikas Education Society. Appreciating the efforts of the branch, the CEO stated in her letter that she would be sending her Director (Academics) to Ambernath Centre to take a leaf out of their book by understanding the dynamics of executing a similar Technical Exhibition of such a mammoth scale for her institution.

Pleased with the results, Ambernath BUM Sneha Kamthe said, “The main purpose of kickstarting the New Year with multiple activities such as Sports Competition, Campus Interview and College Day celebrations was to improve team engagement

within the branch, train the team members to handle pressure and interact with students ensuring good word-of-mouth publicity and generating good PR leading to student satisfaction and more enrolments.

These activities have improved the confidence level of students and faculty members. I am confident that we will achieve similar results for the month of February”.

Career Guidance Seminar Gives A Boost To KTI Jaipur Branch

Kohinoor Hospital Activities

A Career Guidance Seminar conducted by the KTI Team comprising Business Analyst Neel

Bhende and faculty members Hashim Ali and Abdul Razzique at Bright Flowers Secondary School in Jaipur in January gave a strong boost to KTI’s Jaipur Branch. Conceptualized by Neel Bhende egged on by KTI CEO & Director Sameer Joshi and VP (Operations) Sunil Janardhan, the seminar attracted an audience of 59 students of Std 8, 9, 10, the girls outnumbering the boys, with additional participation of four teachers.

The KTI Team extensively educated the students on Skill Development Objectives of the Government; Environmental Scan, Market Study and Student Aspiration; Government Vision for the Youth for Year 2022 and the KTI Story. The Team counselled students on various educational paths open to them by offering vacation/short-term courses.

Highly impressed, Founder & Principal Abdul Majid of the school remarked, “This was a historic program for the school. Never before has any educational institute of such repute headquartered in Mumbai come to deliver a session around career guidance and counselling in the past 40 years of its existence. Every higher secondary student requires

an informative and dynamic seminar that will prepare them for those life-changing career decisions that they face. This seminar from Kohinoor Technical Institute will put them in touch with today’s changing global marketplace trends and tomorrow’s career opportunities.”

Principal Abdul Majid will be recommending KTI to a few other schools in his jurisdiction where the student strength is not less than 1500 and the classes would run up to Std 12. This could be a well-deserved turning point in the future of Jaipur Branch since inception.

For Neel Bhende, in his own words, “This has been a historic and life-changing event for me on a personal level as this is the first national level career guidance seminar conceptualized and presented by me with full support from the faculty of KTI Jaipur Branch. To conduct the seminar in association with a school and the founder, whose pedigree and passion has ignited students and motivated them

to open up and speak without any fear, has been a humble and learning experience for me. Young people have high ambitions, they expect to be highly educated and have professional careers as was mentioned by a few students in the seminar. However, research has found that almost two-thirds of them do not develop coherent plans for achieving their goals. Career guidance and counselling seminars such as these can provide students with necessary tools to set career goals and give them an understanding of the education and skills they need to meet their goals.”
