LOCAL ARAB TIMES, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2017 5 Kuwait working on increasing emergency ambulances: MoH Al-Harbi lauds female emergency medical staff KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: Minister of Health Dr Jamal Al-Harbi, after in- augurating the medical emergency center of Adan Hospital, revealed that the center, which consists of two floors, a helipad for two air ambulances (heli- copters) and 17 modern medical emergency ve- hicles (ambulances), will serve all health zones and nearby main roads in the country. He revealed that the helicop- ters are operated by highly skilled emergency medical personnel. Dr Al-Harbi explained that the center was constructed and designed based on international standards and specifications. It will provide its ser- vices round the clock throughout the week for all medical cases that re- quire immediate response. It consists of two sections and sufficient number of personnel who are ready to tackle any medical emergency that might arise at any time. He said, “The medical emer- gency unit is the vigilant eye of the health system in the country. Due to this, Ministry of Health is keen about constantly developing it in order to keep up with the emergen- cies that arise”. On the sidelines of the inaugu- ration ceremony, Dr Al-Harbi an- nounced that air ambulances dealt with 600 cases last year in Ahmadi Health Zone and the emergency medical unit dealt with 22 cases and reports. He applauded the efforts exerted by female emergency medical per- sonnel who have joined the ranks of the medical emergency department. The center serves several areas such as Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Fintas, Fahad Al-Ahmad, Eqaila, Mahboula and Jaber Al-Ali, he pointed out. He stressed that the ministry has been evolving emergency depart- ments at hospitals to provide de- veloped services for patients and enhance potentials of workers peri- odically. The center has a department for training emergency staff on how to save lives of patients in record time in accordance with recommenda- tions by World Health Organizations (WHO), the minister made clear. The ceremony also involved a photo ex- hibition on Marafi’s charitable work. In his speech at the event, Sheikh Ali said the deceased had exerted great efforts to serve his country and people. The prize-giving ceremony was held under the patronage of Min- ister of Amir Diwan and honoring President of Kuwait Arts Associa- tion Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ah- mad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Mon- day evening on the sidelines of the opening of 11th Kuwait Formative Arts Gallery. Arts have been a mirror of peo- ple’s civilization and the status of their nation among other nations, thus it has to be greatly support- ed and respected, Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad said in a speech on behalf of Sheikh Nasser at the ceremony. Honoring those national artists are an imperative due to their cru- cial role in elevating the country status in the world, he said. He praised the impressive works of the winning artists. For his part, President of Kuwait Arts Association Abdulrasool Sal- man echoed a similar view. He suggested that the diversity of the displayed works reflects the cultural diversity of the state. He also lauded the contributions of Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ah- mad in supporting arts, notably organization of the formative arts exhibition. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahamd Al-Jaber Al- Sabah award was shared among three artists, namely Saad Al- Baloushi, Amira Ashkanani, and Yaacob Ibrahim. Sheikha Fatouh Al-Sabah award was shared among Saud Al-Faraj, Hashem Karam, and Suleiman Haider. Sheikha Salwa Al-Sabah award was won by Zainab Dashti, Ab- dullah Al-Rashed and Mariam Al-Muraikhi. Youth Creativity award was grabbed by Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Fahad Al-Hajri, Mo- hammad Al-Ra’es, Sho’aa Al- Rasheedi, Farah Al-Sammak, Mariam Mourad, Abdulaziz Mirza, Abdulelah Al-Rasheed, Mariam Al-Rashed, Ahmad Al- Husseini, Fahad Al-Eid, and Hus- sein Al-Bannai. Kuwait chairs 11th ARABOSAI meeting DOHA, Feb 14, (KUNA): The 11th meeting for Institutional Capacity Building Committee, affiliated with the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), got underway on Monday with a Kuwaiti participation. Chairing the opening session of the three-day meeting, Ab- durrazaq Abdulkarim, director of monitoring department at Ku- wait’s State Audit Bureau, noted that setting training programs and caring for scientific research were means to achieve capacity build- ing in both human and organiza- tional resources. Participating countries also include Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan and Morocco. ARABOSAI is under the Interna- tional Organization of Supreme Au- dit Institutions (INTOSAI), which operates as an umbrella organization for external government audit com- munity.

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: Minister of Health Dr Jamal Al-Harbi, after in-augurating the medical emergency center of Adan Hospital, revealed that the center, which consists of two fl oors, a helipad for two air ambulances (heli-copters) and 17 modern medical emergency ve-hicles (ambulances), will serve all health zones and nearby main roads in the country.
