Kyoto Protocol •11 December 1997 signature of the protocol •192 countries at the COP3 Conference ; •16 February 2005 the Kyoto Protocol took effect; Goals: •Decrease gas emissions to reduce greenhouse effects in the period 1990-2012; •adapt production and consumption to reduce their impact on natural resources.
The Protocol in Italy •Goal: -6,5% gas emissions; •Result: -7% gas emissions
Thanks to: •specific laws on the use of green energy; •energetic saving; •economic crisis;
Next steps
2015: official results of the trend of the programme for each country. Working-out of future goals to reach. 2020: -20% gas emissions. 2030: -40% gas emissions. 2050: -80% gas emissions.
