The information was sent to the contacts in Guilds in Canada, and was also sent to the executive members of the International Scout Guide Fellowship. The International Scout Guide Fellowship put the contact notice on their website for those in other countries. At various times during Fellowship Day, contact was made between Guild members from St John’s to Vancouver, Africa, Portugal and other places around the world. It was interesting to hear about what the various Guilds are doing or have done in their home areas and to share the fellowship and experiences of Scouting and Guiding with their communities, it was also great to be able to make contact with fellow Guilders in other parts of the world. For next year we would like to know from the Guilds and the members if they would like to continue on St. George Day, if they would prefer the Saturday or Sunday or if we should move it to BP week. This is a great opportunity for fellowship. Please contact Mike Burke ([email protected]) or Roger Angel ([email protected]) with your contribution by September 30th in order to make the 4th annual even bigger and better.

We lucked out good weather for these February andMarch events. Much credit goes to the 99th membersand the Camp Committee Scouters that organized andprovided creative events. Our Spring Cleanup Week was held at BSSR in April.Twenty five Members of the 99th worked very hard overthree days to get the Camp ready for Spring andSummer activities. Nearly every weekend the Camp hasgroup programs and accommodations rentals. Thus ourSpring Cleanup helps get things in order for the nextseason. We enjoy supporting Our Camp Ranger Paul Gorofallo inhis role to operate this fine facility. We held a regular meeting with some important Honorsand Awards presented.Bruce Findlay our Registrar received his Silver AcornAward. He has contributed so very much to BSSR bothin hours of service and friendship to our Guild.Well-deserved Bruce.

John Edwards and Jenny Beer, DCC –Recognition forCEC presenting the Silver Acorn to Bruce Findlay

Another surprised attendee was John Edwards who hasworked with the 99th Guild and the Camp Committee topromote develop the SCENE program at BSSR. He re-ceived the unofficial title of Mayor of Blue Springs. Thistitle is presented to John in sincere appreciation for allthe things he does at and for BSSR.

BSSR Camp Committee Chair Michael Johnson awardsJohn Edwards with the title of Mayor of Blue Springs

We are proceeding with plans to enhance our Libraryand display of Scouting memorabilia. More details tocome as we work towards the project.
