(NAPSA)-If you’ve long thought you have a fat chance of staying slim, a new plan and product can be good news for you.
Fat Loss Facts The plan, created by Dr. Charles Living-ston, is not a diet but a healthy weight life-style that’s a lot easier to stick to than you may think. There’s a very high success rate and you lose the weight incred-ibly fast. There’s even a money-back guaran-tee. Called the Fat Loss Factor, it offers seven ways to burn fat, fast: 1. Police your kitch-en. Get rid of every-
Hints To Help You Win At Losing
thing that’s loaded with sugar and you’ll avoid a lot of the pit-falls that keep many people from achieving their goals. 2. Cut out that low-intensity car-dio. End your useless routines and move toward some bursts of intense training followed by recovery paces to boost the rate at which your body burns fat. 3. Equip yourself at home to do some ex-ercise. Get a balance ball, a weight bench and some dumbbells so you can do some work while you’re away from the gym.
4. Be careful about your eating. Schedule your grocery trips, and plan what you’re going to eat and when. Then be very selective at the store to get the most natural, nutri-tious foods you can. 5. Make a third of your diet raw fruits and veggies. They contain loads of an-tioxidants, minerals, vitamins, digestive
enzymes and fiber to clean your digestive tract and pull out un-wanted toxins. Grab-bing celery sticks, an apple, an orange, car-rot sticks and so on is a fast and easy way to snack. Basically, the closer it is to nature, the better it’s likely to be for you and your waistline. 6. Eat only when you’re hungry. Just
because it’s lunchtime doesn’t mean you have to eat. Maybe your body can use a break from digestion.
In fact, occasional fast-ing is a healthy prac-tice for most people. Just don’t get carried away with this and do
things such as skip-ping breakfast every day. To save time in the morning or at any Continuied on Page 8

It’s a comprehensive blend of 16 unique diges-tive enzymes whose key ingredients have been shown to help your body fully break down and absorb the nutrients contained in any and every food you eat. Just take one single capsule at the start of each meal for en-hanced absorption of health-promoting, age-defying and dis-ease-fighting vitamins, minerals, phytochemi-cals and antioxidants from all foods.

Have you ever wanted to learn to quilt? Now is a good time to begin your quilt journey. Quilt-ing brings enjoyment, relaxation, is an outlet for your creativity, and gives great joy when the project is com-pleted and is given to someone who enjoys it. You will face many choices as you begin your quilt. Fabric is probably the most important part of the quilt. You can piece precisely, press per-fectly, and quilt beau-
Spring Into Quilting at The Quilted Crow
tifully, but if the fabric is not of good quality, the quilt will show it by distorting as you piece it together, by fading, or by wearing quickly. You will want to select the best fabric you can afford. Good fabric will have a nice hand. It will soft but not limp or stiff. You can find good quali-ty fabric at your local quilt shop like The Quilted Crow, which offers a wide variety of cotton quilting fab-rics. Almost all good quality quilting fabric is 100% cotton. Cotton
fabric sticks to cotton fabric, making it eas-ier to piece because it doesn’t slide. If you are serious about learning to quilt, call or come in to the shop to talk about the classes we offer. We have beginners class-es starting April 8 and April 9. In just eight sessions, you will learn how to choose fabrics, cut the fabric, piece your quilt blocks, put the quilt top together, machine quilt (simple straight line quilting), and bind your quilt. The finished project will be either a crib or
lap size quilt. Come and join us for this new adven-ture!

In hard times, early col-leges in the U.S. were forced to accept pay-ments such as cotton, sheep, pewter and food rather than hard curren-cy.
Prejudices, it is well known, are most difficult to erad-icate from the heart whose soil has never been loosened or fertilized by education; they grow there, firm as weeds among stone.

(NAPSI)—Want to stop wasting water—and money—at home? Become a leak detec-tive! According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average American household has leaks that waste more than 10,000 gal-lons of water every year, or the amount of water needed to wash 270 loads of laundry. But if you have 10 minutes, these clues
Take 10 Minutes To Stop Leaks
can help you detect and fix leaks through-out your home:
• Check your utility bill. During the winter, if a family of four is us-ing more than 12,000 gallons of water per month, it could be the clue to a leak. • Read your water meter. Check your wa-ter meter-often near the curb in front of your home or in the basement-during a
period when no water is being used. If the reading is not exactly the same after two or three hours, you could have a leak. • Take a 10-minute toilet test. Put a few drops of food color-ing into the tank at the
back of your toilet and let it sit for 10 minutes. If color shows up in the bowl, you have a leak. Make sure to flush after to avoid staining, and consider replacing your old toi-let flapper if it is torn or worn.
While you’re wait-ing for your toilet test, here are other places to investigate for leaks around the home: • In the bathroom, tighten showerhead connections with a wrench or use a little pipe tape to stop those
stray sprays and drips that are draining your water bill. To save even more, twist Wa-terSense labeled fau-cet aerators on your bathroom sink faucets, which can save the av-erage family 700 galContinued on Page 16

Don’t forget the laundry or utility room! • Outside, check that your hose con-nections are tight and your sprinkler system is in good working order. An irrigation system that has a leak 1/32nd of an inch in diameter (about the thickness of a dime) can waste about 6,300 gallons of water per month! EPA has declared March 14−20, 2016, Fix a Leak Week to remind consumers to find and fix leaks. Take 10 minutes to be a leak detective. The water you save could wash your laundry for 10 months! N A P S I ) — M a n y Americans think they need to worry about skin protection only when they are outside. However, according to the International Window Film Asso-ciation (IWFA), the harmful UV rays that people are concerned about while outdoors can also penetrate into homes, with the possi-bility of causing dam-age. Typical windows block as little as 25 per-cent of UV rays which, if left unchecked, can cause extensive dam-age to the skin, includ-ing premature aging, wrinkles and even skin

cancer. Additionally, the UV rays may ac-celerate the fading of
furniture, flooring and other décor. Fortunately, pro-fessionally installed window film may act as a powerful defense against these prob-lems, by blocking up to 99 percent of the UV rays. Installing window film can also have a positive affect on en-
ergy costs, because it can help regulate room temperatures, thus lowering ener-gy bills during warm and, in some cases, even cold weather. “Thousands of highly-trained dealers and installers across the United States stand ready to help consumers achieve a
safer, more comfort-able and energy effi-cient home,” said Dar-rell Smith, Executive
Director of the IWFA. You can learn more at www.iwfa.com. Tell Them

(NAPSI)—There’s good news, bad news and better news for people who don’t like to clean out their gut-ters.
Avoid Gutter Cleaning The good news is, you won’t have to if you get any of the more than 40 different versions of gutter cov-ers around.

The bad news is, covered gutters are breeding grounds for mosquitoes and for nesting bees, wasps, even small rodents. Torrential rains can overwhelm the cov-er, causing ground erosion. The covered gutter can increase the chance for damaging winter ice-dams.
The better news: There is an alternative. The time-tested Rain-handler Rain Disper-sal System has a pat-ented louver design so gutters don’t collect leaves or debris and require no cleaning or maintenance. Gen-tle, rain-sized drops spread out, away from your home. You’ll nev-
er have to climb a dan-gerous ladder to clean gutters again.

(NAPSI)—This year, many families will be-come owners of smart home technology for the first time. Connect-ed to the Internet and controlled by smart-phone apps, smart home devices promise to enhance everyday life with convenience, energy savings and even security. How-
Buying Smart Home Technology? Ask Three
Questions Firstever, taking the wrong approach when buy-ing them can lead to an expensive case of buyer’s remorse. This very new tech-nology comes with some unique consider-ations and options that many shoppers may overlook in pursuit of the best deal at retail. Before clicking ‘buy’,
experts say, shoppers should consider the following questions to determine the best ap-proach. 1. Can I install it? Devices such as connected light bulbs may be simple to in-stall, but others, like a smart thermostat, will require competence with electrical wiring and heating systems in order to work right. If DIY is a concern, buyers should re-search the ‘do it for me’ option: the grow-
ing network of smart home service provid-ers who supply, install and configure smart home devices. 2. Is security im-portant? Many of this year’s most popular smart products, such as streaming video cam-eras and smoke detec-tors, offer awareness of what’s happening at home. But when it comes to security, they are self-monitored. You’ll get a text mes-sage if there’s trouble
at home but what hap-pens if you don’t get the message or can’t
respond? For the security minded, professional-
ly monitored options are a better buy. Continued on Page 19

Page 18These systems send you a text notification if there’s an emergen-cy and automatically contact emergency responders on your behalf. 3. Am I investing in a smart device, or a smart home? A common cause of smart home frus-tration is devices that don’t intercommu-nicate, requiring the user to use multiple apps and complex workarounds to auto-mate their home. As
more devices are add-ed, the situation grows more complex. For shoppers plan-ning to buy more devices in future, a solution such as a smart home securi-ty system eliminates the problem before it
begins. The solution approach gives the buyer a complete eco-system of smart home devices, connected by a single software plat-form and mobile app that ensures every de-vice—current and fu-ture—can contribute to the goal of a smarter home. Page 19own contents, suggest menus, recommend healthy alter- natives and order food to be delivered. • You can set up your thermostat to turn the heat or air-condition-ing on just before you come home. • Your connected home can monitor your pets and children
while you’re not in the room and “see” who comes to the door. • You may be able to check messages, open windows, oper-ate lights and curtains, and monitor a renew-able energy system through your smart-phone, from work, on vacation or just sitting on your couch at home. • A washer and dry-er from Whirlpool can integrate with the Nest Learning Thermostat to keep clothes fresh
if a cycle ends when you’re not home. The dryer can also switch into a slightly longer, more energy-efficient cycle. A mobile app lets you remotely start and pause cycles, track cycle progress, and re-ceive energy use and a
notification when the load is finished. Smart applianc-es can help you get things done the fast-est, most energy-effi-cient and easiest way for you. • You may also warm to the idea of
being able to control your oven from any-where. The new Jenn-Air Culinary Center automatically sets the oven cycle based on the doneness levels you select. • Water softeners can save you mon-
ey, give you cleaner clothes and dishes, and better-tasting food and drink—but they sometimes need a hand. Low salt levels and bridging and blockage issues can go unnoticed for weeks, damaging the
appliance. The new 46,000-Grain Water Softener with Wi-Fi Smart Technology monitors water use, letting you know when it needs more softener salt and send-ing you alerts if probContinued on Page 20

(NAPSI)—Moving day and the weeks prior are a hectic and even frustrat-ing time—it may be tempting to let some
Top Three Ways To Stay Green When Moving
of your green habits slide. Follow these tips to stay green during a time when you may be seeing red: 1. Save with Green
Cleaning—Save mon-ey with DIY (do-it-yourself) cleaning products; they’re both easy and cost effective. 2. Eco-Friendly De-cor—Sustainability in the home goes beyond lightbulbs. Pay atten-tion to fabrics-bamboo and organic cotton are two great options. Look for rugs made from recycled mate-rials and upcycle old furniture by painting
with milk paint. 3. Interior Paint—Traditional house paint emits volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can act as an irritant or cause more serious concerns. Lessen the risk by us-ing eco-friendly low-VOC and low-odor paints. Moving is the per-fect time for a fresh start. With a couple clicks at www.ca-
blemover.com you can schedule your cable high-speed Internet, digital cable TV and phone connections in advance for a has-sle-free move day. Look for the custom-izable Moving Guide for tips on an efficient move.

Tell ThemYou Saw it inThe Focus
(NAPSI)—If you’re like most people, car safety and perfor-mance are important to you. But you might be surprised to hear that over 47 million vehicles have unfixed safety recalls—ve-
Keep Track of Open Recalls
hicles you might be sharing the road with or driving yourself. Alarmingly, fami-ly-oriented vehicles like SUVs and mini-vans are the least-often fixed. An auto recall usually occurs when
the manufacturer or the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin-istration finds that a car has a defect or fails to meet federal safety standards. While repeated at-tempts are made to reach the owners, the
stats suggest that peo-ple aren’t well-enough informed about re-calls, and may not know where to start. To help you stay in-formed, you can use the free myCarfax.com service to get e-mails or text alerts about
current and future re-calls on your car. Fixing recalls helps maintain the safety and value of your car, makes roads safer, and is normally free. Plus, most recall fixes are completed in less than a day.
Remember that only a manufacturer’s deal-er is authorized to fix recalls. If your car is recalled, call your lo-cal dealer immediate-ly. Learn more and sign up at www.mycarfax.com.
