Saturday Seniors Drivers and Helpers
Every Saturday, Martha's Table delivers meals door-to-door to the senior
residents of Paul Laurence Dunbar Apartments. This program is
imperative, as many of the seniors rely on us to receive meals on the
weekends.
Outfitters (Historic Anacostia)
Martha's Outfitters is a friendly, fun community boutique in Historic
Anacostia of Washington, DC. Volunteers help to sort donations,
hang merchandise and keep the store clean.
McKenna's Wagon Drivers
and Helpers
Our mobile food service, McKenna’s Wagon, goes out 365 days a year to distribute meals in downtown D.C. Our volunteers serve food to our guests and unload the van upon return to Martha’s Table. Keep in mind that there is only room for 4 volunteers + 1
pre-approved driver.
Food Prep
Martha's Table relies on volunteers every day to peel, chop, slice, and
dice produce for our nightly, hot meal distribution to two downtown
D.C. locations.
Baking Enthusiast
Sign-up to bake muffins for our nightly mobile food truck, McKenna’s Wagon. No prior baking experience necessary - just a love for
homemade snacks! Space is limited to 4 volunteers. All volunteers must be at least 14 years old.
Joyful Food Markets and
Community Markets
Joyful Food Markets support at 53 elementary schools in Wards 7 & 8,
east of the Anacostia River, to reduce hunger and increase access to and
consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. Presented in partnership with
the Capital Area Food Bank and DC Health, the markets are held once a
month, immediately following school dismissal.
Lobby Market
Martha’s Table believes that access to fresh, healthy food is essential for
supporting strong children, families, and community. Our market is open to
anyone Monday-Friday. As a market volunteer, you assist clients as they shop
for their groceries, close up the market at the end of the day and get to directly
interact with our community members!

Martha's Table needs volunteers to assist with cleaning up from all our
Food Program activities that take place during the day. Come help our
staff keep up with cleanup and other tasks throughout the day.
