El Carr fue diseado como una manzana relativamente compacta realizada a partirde una serie de densos b loques apilados. La base del edificio se asienta sobre unpedestal que contiene un aparcamiento de uso privado. La circulacin del edificio seorganiza a travs de tres mdulos de escaleras y ascensor a los que se llega a travsdel patio. En el lado de la entrada principal, un puerta de doble altura recorre en todasu anchura este lado del patio, ofreciendo una vista de los antiguos edificios militaresy de la parte antigua de la ciudad.El edificio est especialmente pensado para personas mayores que buscan unavivienda ms reducida, despus de que sus hijos se han marchado de casa, debido a

su proximidad con el centro y al alto grado de servicios que ofrece el Chass Terrain.

The Carr was designed as a relatively compact block made up of a series of denselystacked volumes. The building floor plate sits o n a pedestal containing a parkinggarage for the inhabitants of the building. Circulation of the building is arranged bythree staircases and elevator tracts which can be reached through the courtyard. Onthe side of the main entrance a 2 story high gate is cut out along the width of the sideof the courtyard, providing a view of the monumental army convent, barracks and theold part of the city.The building was carefully designed for retiring baby boomers, people who move toa smaller house because their children have moved out , because of its proximity tothe city centre and the high service level of the Chass site.
