Food Coloring is used inmany experiments to showcolor change and to makethe experiment moreexciting.

Buret

The buret is used intitrations to measureprecisely how much liquid isused.

Funnel

The Funnel is a piece ofeqipment that is used in thelab but is not confined to thelab. The funnel can be usedto target liguids into anycontainer so they will not be

lost or spilled.

CrucibleCrucibles are used to heatsmall quantities to very hightemperatures.

Microspatula

The Microspatula,commonly called a spatula,is used for moving smallamounts of solid from placeto place.

ErlenmeyerFlask

The Erlenmeyer Flask isused to heat and storeliquids. The advantage tothe Erlenmeyer Flask is thatthe bottom is wider than the

top so it will heat quickerbecause of the greatersurface area exposed to theheat.

Mortar andPestle

The Mortar and Pestle areused to crush solids intopowders for experiments,

usually to better dissolve thesolids.

Pipet

The pipet is used for movingsmall amounts of liquid fromplace to place. They areusually made of plastic andare disposable

Paper Towels are essentialto the lab environment.They will be used in almostevery lab.

Ring Stand

Ring stands are used to holditems being heated. Clampsor rings can be used so thatitems may be placed abovethe lab table for heating bybunsen burners or otheritems.

Test tube Rack

The testtube rack is used tohold testtubes whilereactions happen in them orwhile they are not needed.

Stir Rod

The stir rods are used to stir

things. They are usuallymade of glass. Stir Rods arevery useful in the lab setting.

The test tube brush is usedto easily clean the inside ofa test tube.

The triangle is used to holdcrucibles when they arebeing heated. They usuallysit on a ring stand

VolumetricFlask

The Volumetric flask is usedto measure one specificvolume. They are mostlyused in mixing solutionswhere a one liter or one halfa liter is needed.

WatchGlass

The watch glass is used tohold solids when beingweighed or transported.They should never beheated.
