System Mode
Different Measurement Modes with Different Layouts :
The layout is changed for different measurement functions.
IET - Used Lab Equipment - Refurbished Analytical Laboratory Instruments
▪ Absorbance/Transmittance Mode The amount of absorbed or
transmitted light through a sampleis analyzed and separated according to wavelength as
spectrum.
▪ Fluorescence/Reflectance Mode The properties of a sample are
analyzed by fluorescence or reflected light from using a detector. The light source and the
detector are arranged at a right angle.
▪ Irradiance Mode A light source can be
changed and the experiments on light sources and luminaries are possible in this mode.
IET - Used Lab Equipment - Refurbished Analytical Laboratory Instruments
Connection
▪Easy connection to PC via USB 2.0 (USB 1.1 compatible)
▪USB cable and Electrical cord enclosed
Operating Program
User-friendly interface with various colors and 3D pictures makes it easy and interesting
for students to use the program.

Experiments with Lab Junior (I)
Absorbance/Transmittance Experiment
Student can study the properties of light and color with the experiment using a solution
filled cuvette or cellophane paper.
Absorbance/Transmittance Experiment
Experiment example
▪ Observe how transmittance light and absorbance light are different as penetrating
the light to color solution and discuss the principle how we can see colors by means
IET - Used Lab Equipment - Refurbished Analytical Laboratory Instruments
of the properties of light and color.
▪ Check and discuss the mixed ratio for each color of color solution and how the
color of solution changes as adding different color.
▪ Study the photosynthesis and transmittance of chlorophyll extracted tobacco
leaves and discuss the reaction between chlorophyll and light.
▪ Chemical experiments on determining the concentration of solution
▪ Experiments on the wavelength range of color
▪ Experiments on titration using acid-base indicator
▪ Experiments on the mixed ratio of solution
▪ Analysis experiments on the color and configuration of complex compound
Experiments with Lab Junior (II)
Reflectance/Fluorescence Experiment
Students can study the properties of light and color with the experiment using a solution
filled cuvette, reflective colored paper or gold color foil in reflectance/fluorescence
mode(right angel arrangement) of Lab Junior.
IET - Used Lab Equipment - Refurbished Analytical Laboratory Instruments
Reflectance/Fluorescence Experiment Experiment example
▪ Observe how fluorescent ink emits the light in water the ink is dissolved and what
substances emit light around us. Also discuss the process how the substances emit
the light
▪ Reflect the light with colored paper, which doesn’t transmit the light and observe
how each color reflect the light. Discuss the principle how we can see colors as
understanding the properties of light and color
▪ Observe how the reflectance is affected by surface roughness and discuss why the
color we could see is changed by the roughness of surface.
▪ Determine the concentration of various fluorescent materials
▪ Experiments on comparing the roughness of reflective material surface
▪ Experiments on defining fluorescence material in mixed solution
▪ Experiments on determining the sedimentation of a solution.
Experiments with Lab Junior (III) Irradiance Experiment
Analysis the light of radiant substance and discuss how the properties of light are
different for each light in irradiance mode of Lab Junior.
IET - Used Lab Equipment - Refurbished Analytical Laboratory Instruments
Irradiance Experiment
Experiment example
▪ Study the differences between sunlight and artificial light and between a
fluorescent lamp and an incandescent lamp. Also discuss how these differences
affect our eyes.
▪ Analysis the differences of warm and cool colors and discuss the factor of these
differences.
▪ Analysis the flame coloration as burning metal on an alcohol lamp and discuss the
color of each element.
▪ Study wavelength positions by color using LED light source and discuss what LED
light source is different from lamps with same color.
▪ Measure line spectrums and understand Fraunhofer lines with irradiance
experiments using the detector and a hydrogen discharge tube.
▪ Experiments on irradiance and wavelength range of various light sources.
