•Client management toolbox for OS X -Natively designed for Macintosh Platform -Full integration with OS X client & server. Uses native tools to do some of its work.
•Agent-less, easy interface -Nothing to install. A small binary reports back to server. -Central management & central database — assign out functionality to certain people in your department.
•Developed by System Administrators -Developed out of deploying and managing by-hand.
•Remote and automated performance of IT tasks -Daily, monthly, nights & weekends.

-Web interface is an entry point to a lot of the data and functionality of the suite.
-Accessible from any machine with a web browser.

-Collects the inventory data and submits it back to the JSS. Allows
the machine
to be in a “managed” state.
-Enables SSH, locks it down, makes it secure. Only cross-platform
tool in suite.
-pkg or dmg formats.
-dmg will fill user templates

-after you’ve built all your packages, you use Casper Admin to
organize your packages into configurations for imaging.
