Row 1: (Right side) Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next ch, ch 5, skip next 3 chs, sc in next ch, ch 5, * skip next 3 ch, sc in next 3 chs, ch 5, skip next 3 chs, sc in next ch, ch 5; repeat from * across to last 5 chs, skip next 3 chs, sc in last 2 chs.

Row 2: ch 5 (counts as first dc plus ch 2, now and throughout) turn, *(sc in next ch 5 sp, ch 5) twice, skip next sc, sc in next sc, ch 5; rep from * across to last 2 ch-5 sps, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in last ch-5 sp, ch 2, skip next sc, dc in last sc.

Row 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in first dc, ch 2, skip next ch-2 sp, 7 dc in next ch-5 sp, ch 2, * sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 2, 7 dc in next ch-5 sp, ch 2, repeat from * across to last ch-2 sp, skip last ch-2 sp, sc in last dc.

STOLE

Chain 82, work in pattern stitch for 15 pattern repeats ending on the 4th row of the 15th repeat, or half of the desired length. (Note: If a longer shawl is desired, another skein will be needed.) End off.

Working on the other side of the starting chain, complete the other half as the first, but do not end off. Ch 1, turn and work 1 sc in each dc and ch 1 space across row, ch 1 for corner and work sc’s evenly down side of shawl keeping work flat, work other scallop end as the first, ch 1, work down other side and join with sl st to beg of row. End off and weave in all ends.
