LAdLE FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY: There’s an additional opportunity to serve the homeless. A church group backed out & Ladle is looking for help TODAY. THRIFT SHOP dONATIONS: Alliance for African Assistance, one of our mission partners, runs a thrift shop, Safari Seconds, dedicated to supporting refugees as they establish homes in San Diego. Donations of clothing and household goods for the shop, may be taken to the lower level of the church parking garage and put inside the room to the left of the Administration Elevator. TOILETRIES, bASEbALL CAPS & SOCKS NEEdEd: We are collecting travel size sunscreen, baseball caps, new white socks, and men’s pants & shoes to distribute to the La Jolla homeless community. These items can be dropped off at the Reception Desk. Melissa Guccini at [email protected] with any questions.
VOLUNTEERS NEEdEd: Later this Summer, we are expanding the Internet Livestream to include all three Sunday services! We will need additional volunteers trained to operate the camera and the slides. MiLestones: 46 year member Michel R. Barth went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2016. There will be a Memorial Service at 1st Presbyterian of Spokane, Sat. Aug. 27@1pm. 318 S. Cedar Street, Spokane, WA.
Carl D. Dustin went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2016. Carl was an LJPC member for 53 years and he and June were about to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary. There are no plans at this time for a local Memorial Service.
42 year member Dr. Lee O. Vida, M.D. went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2016. There are currently no plans for a Memorial Service.
