Laghoo Shankhaprakshalana

An intestinal system which is always overloaded and blocked determines unpleasant consequences.

Laghoo Shankhaprakshalana is a simple and great way to encourage a good bowel movement and

cleaning. E 'is particularly useful for people who suffer from constipation, although it can also be

used to wash all the digestive system. t can be done daily as part of the initial morning routine, oroccasionally when they feel the need.

!o make the practice will take a few minutes, and this short time is spent to great advantage,

because it will help to remove the torpor that will change in energy, confidence and optimism.

!erminology

!he Sanskrit word laghoo means "short", "condensed" or "concise". !he word Shankha means

"shell" and prakshalana means "to wash" or "completely clean".

!he word Shankha is intended to represent and describe the gut, which is cavernous and a spiral.

!hus, the combination of the term Shankhaprakshalana means "the complete washing of the

intestine". !his is, in fact, the name of several techniques. !he method described here is the short

form, laghoo Shankhaprakshalana, which can be done quickly and with little preparation. n

addition, the two practices have slightly different ob#ectives, Shankhaprakshalana empty completelyand clean everything the digestive system, while laghoo Shankhaprakshalana will only encourage

normal bowel function.

Laghoo Shankhaprakshalana is not like a la$ative. !he artificial la$atives stimulate the nerves of the

intestine, so that peristalsis is induced rapidly and the output of feces through the intestine occurs

for e$pulsion. Although the bowel is emptied at the same time gradually leads to the weakening of

the nerve refle$es.

n addition, la$atives tend to empty the bowel completely and this is not natural. n the health of the

intestinal system there is always a residue of feces in the intestine. And 'here that water is

reabsorbed into the body to prevent dehydration. %urthermore, this residue of feces contains

myriads of bacteria, which help the production of some vitamins such as & comple$. !he strong

la$atives sweep out all the stools, thereby preventing the reabsorption of water and bacteria can not

perform their normal functions. !herefore, although the la$atives give benefits in a short time, they

may gradually bring deleterious effects in the body.

n laghoo Shankhaprakshalana, the salt water is not used as a la$ative. !he saltwater action

lubricant and loosens the stool. Let us make an analogy. f you want to scrape a pot before you put it

to soak in hot water, when they are out of scale can be removed. !he salt water works the same way

in the gut leaving it clean and free of obstructions.

Salt water does not directly stimulate the nerves. ormally it is the movement and stool volume

which implements the stimulus on the nerves and active peristalsis.

!he salt water encourages the feces stuck to move, which causes the nerves to perform their normalfunctions. !he nerve stimulation is not involved directly as in the case of the la$ative. %urthermore,

the salt water does not empty completely the intestine, which is one of the disadvantages associated

with la$atives.

f you normally use la$atives, the council is to introduce laghoo Shankhaprakshalana in order to

reduce the dependency on these.

water. t 'important to use salt water, so that the water is not absorbed from the intestinal walls. !he

purpose is to make sure that the water passes completely from the stomach for the entire length ofthe intestine without being absorbed. f you use the water without salt then it will be absorbed

quickly by the first part of the intestine, not reaching the entire intestine. !he salt water creates a
