Sale Terms and ConditionsCattle will sell under the Suggested Terms and Conditions of the Amer-ican Angus Association. All cattle are to be paid for during or imme-diately after the sale and will not be released until after settlement hasbeen made. Registration certificates will not be transferred to the newowner until paid for in full.

Herd HealthCattle will be accompanied by proper health certificates for immediateinterstate shipment. All LaGrand cattle have passed a blood test forJohne’s and BVD PI. Even though the serum test for Johne’s is a goodmonitor of herd health, it does not guarantee absence of disease. Infec-tion with Johne’s is best determined with a fecal culture that takes fourmonths. All cattle have received Vira-Shield 5 with Corona, Lepto and 7-Way Clostridium. They are immunized for both Type 1 and Type 2 BVD,Rednose, Para Influenza and BRSV. They also received a mycoplasmbovis, fusobacterium, pinkeye vaccination, type A and two doses of oneshot. Bred females will be pregnancy examined prior to the sale.

All potential genetic defect carriers have been or will be tested priorto the sale. Results of AM/CA/NH testing not available at catalog presstime will be available sale day.

TruckingShipping of purchases will be the responsibility of the buyer. A list oftruckers believed to be reliable will be available. We will be happy to as-sist in making the most economical arrangements for delivery of yourpurchases. Please bring your trailer sale day!

Registration CertificatesAnimals will be transferred to the buyer at the seller’s expense. Eachbuyer must be sure to give the clerk the proper name and address formaking transfers. Calves born before the sale will be registered by theseller; proper breeding statements will be signed by the seller for thebuyer to use in registering calves born after the sale.

Livestock InsuranceMortality insurance for your purchases will be available sale day at theclerk’s desk through American LiveStock Insurance Company. We rec-ommend that insurance be obtained on lots purchased.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2010 LaGrand Angus Production Sale. If this is your firsttime with us, please feel free to ask any and all questions about our program. The sale will be heldat a NEW LOCATION this year—please take note. Also, please bring your trailer sale day. Sincethe Canova ranch has sold, the entire sale offering is now at our home headquarters in Freeman.

We have strived to breed these cattle for eye appeal, fertility and top carcass merits, and theywill carry unique pedigrees and EPDs that are at the top of the game. All of the bull and heifercalves have been retained except for the fall calving group. If you are interested in a show heifer,we do have some private treaty. I urge you to study the offering closely. Many of the females aredirect daughters out of our herd donors from some of the top matriarchs in the breed, and manywill have calves that will be destined for the show ring.

We want to thank our previous customers. We greatly appreciate and value the relationshipswe have made. Welcome to the LaGrand Angus Ranch Fall Production Sale! You will notice one major change to this year’s sale—the newlocation! The sale will be held at Sioux Falls Regional Livestock near Worthing, South Dakota. While we look forward to tran-sitioning the sale back to the ranch in the future, we are excited to work with the staff at SFRL this year and enjoy the ben-efits their facility offers.

While the location may be different, many of the traditions that are associated with the LaGrand Sale remain the same. Thesale will still be held on the second Saturday in October, and this year’s offering will be as good as ever. Our industry is afast evolving environment, and LaGrand Ranch is working diligently to stay abreast by using superior genetics to help meetyour demands and provide you with a reliable seedstock source. Whether you look to Angus cattle for calving ease, wean-ing or yearling growth, carcass quality or a combination of all these, they offer genetics to fit your needs. The females arescreened based on individual performance, EPDs and visual appraisal and have ultrasound data collected on them.

As you read through the 2010 offering, I am sure you will be impressed with the quality represented. LaGrand Ranch isknown for producing the kind of females that perform well and offer ideal combinations in pedigree and eye appeal. The fe-males in this sale have been selected as those that will go on to be profitable investments for their new owners, and pastcustomer success is a testament to this. This year’s offering is unique in that it is the first time Lance and the crew are shar-ing an outstanding set of two year olds from the heart of the herd. Cow families represented include: Lady Jaye, Primrose,Mignonne E37, Everelda Entense and many others. Several are the result of embryo transplant, out of their valuable donorherd.
