Don’t forget to check the December Guide, too, as it has other options, if none of these work for you. We'll be back on Monday to help you plan the week ahead. FRIDAY, DEC. 5 ART: Gallery1988 (East) opens the show, Thirty Three and a Third and a Third, on Friday night with a reception from 710 pm. Curated by artist Dana Lechtenberg, the exhibition features more than 100 illustrators and designers reinterpreting classic album covers in their own styles. Bonus: Donut Friend provides treats at the reception. COMEDY: Filmmaker John Waters (Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, A Dirty Shame) is scheduled to perform his oneman show, A John Waters Christmas on Friday, Dec. 5, at The Comedy Store in Hollywood. Filled with adult humor and offcentered jokes, Waters is sure put the X in Xmas for the audience. Tickets: $50$60; $100 for the Gold Circle Meet & Greet ticket. DRINKS: It’s Repeal Day, the day that ended Prohibition [of alcohol! the horror!] in the U.S. through the passage of the 21st Amendment to the United States Constitution on December 5, 1933. Celebrate by raising your favorite beverage, and many bars are holding events and offering specialty beverages. Some of our favs: Pasadena’s Magnolia
