INSIDE

A lthough Chelan is a small town, it’s BIG on ambiance,

especially during the holidays. Enjoy A Small Town Christmas in Historic Chelan and discover it for yourself.

Downtown twinkles during the holidays as white rooftop lights glitter against the night sky and giant lighted star sprays sparkle on lamp posts. A big multi-col-ored lighted tree stands in the center of town and, beside it, Santa’s bright red mailbox reminds little ones to post a message to the North Pole.

Merchants deck their windows for the season, each tr ying to outshine the next as they vie for top prize in down-town’s window decorating contest. The enchanting windows offer a peek of the treasures within, tempting and inviting shoppers to come inside to browse. The first three Saturdays in December are filled with family fun and smiles. The historic Ruby Theatre hosts free holiday matinées each Saturday. Kids craft graham cracker cottages at The Vogue one morning and folks cheer on their favorite restaurant as judges sam-ple their sweet creations in the Holiday

Dessert Taste-Off. Plus, shoppers com-plete their holiday gift list easily, find-ing everything they need at the charm-ing shops, including free gift wrapping at many.

All of downtown Chelan’s holiday fun and décor is punctuated by a story-book setting. Beautiful snow capped mountains and the blue water of Lake Chelan add the final touch of holiday ambiance to A Small Town Christmas in Historic Chelan.

Means Blazing Deals and Fun!

Celebrate Small Business Saturday in Downtown ChelanH istoric Downtown Chelan is fi lled

with charming and independently owned small businesses. On Saturday, November 29th, they will be celebrating Small Business Saturday and invite the public to join them.

Participating downtown merchants will wear plaid on Small Business Satur-day to show they’re glad to be an inde-pendent small business owner. They’ll give plaid pin-on ribbons to shoppers who want to show their support for local small businesses too. Customers mak-ing a purchase at participating down-town Chelan merchants will also receive a “Shop Small” canvas shopping bag.

When you shop in downtown Chelan on Small Business Saturday, there’s no telling who you might run into! Local “Chelan Celebrities” will be lending a hand at a variety of independent down-

town businesses to show their support. A government offi cial may be selling books or reading to kids. Perhaps a local coach will be selling shoes. A radio personal-ity could be explaining the benefi ts of a particular fry pan and a local fi reman might be selling ice cream.

Will you be wearing plaid and what will you buy and who will you buy it from on Small Business Saturday in downtown Chelan? Don’t miss the fun!
