Do you have a clear interdisciplinary focus for your proposed major? Can you clearly articulate the goals and expected application of this course of study? Have you approached, discussed with, and gained approval from potential Faculty Advisors in the areas you plan on pursuing as part of your interdisciplinary degree? Have you planned a potential program of study with your Faculty Advisors containing a minimum of 30 semester hours shared evenly from among your areas of interest? Have you ensured that all prerequisites for proposed courses in your selfdesigned major have been included in your plan of study? Can you articulate the Student Learning Outcomes you hope to achieve from this course of study as well as the means by which they can be assessed? (For help with this approach your potential Faculty Advisors). At least 50% of coursework to be used for the major has been completed at FSC? Have you completed GEN ED check sheet to submit with your proposal to ensure you will fulfill all GEN ED requirements? Once this Checklist is complete you are ready to fill out a SelfDesigned Major Program Proposal. Completed proposals should be submitted to the Interdisciplinary Programs Coordinator who will post it for review by the appropriate dean(s) and faculty. If approved, the appropriate dean(s) will notify all parties and file the degree plan with the Registrar.
