Curriculum Design
• All programs , including FAA strands, are open to all Lamar students (This encourages all students to develop their creativity through the arts)
• 1/3 of the total population are FAA students, 1/3 participate fully in FAA programs without being a FAA student, and 1/3 of the population take the minimum fine arts requirement (The benefit of the 1/3-1/3-1/3 design provides a rich creative learning environment that supports the Creative Learning Initiative in all core and elective classes)
• Students may enroll in one to four fine arts courses per school year. This allows the student a compliment of classes to fully develop their artistic and creative ability which accelerates learning.
• All fine arts strand courses are year-long and ability based. This allows the student to accelerate learning
