’xортиця’land art fest

Annual land art fest «Khortytsya»Хортиця - найбільший і найтаємніший острів на Дніпрі. Унікальний природний і історичний комплекс, розташова-ний в Запоріжжі. Перші поселення на Хортиці науковці датують ІІІ - ІІ тис. до н.е. Витончена зброя, кераміка, навіть стародавні обсерваторії - сліди, які залишили по собі на острові розвинені цивілізації. Всесвітню славу Хортиці принесли козаки - лицарі свободи, самобутні воїни, незрівнянні в силі і гуморі. Творчий дух заповідника манить і гіпнотизує. Потрапляючи сюди, одразу відчуваєш себе художником. Тому таким природним є фестиваль мистецтва довкілля - ленд-арт «Хортиця».Започаткований 2008 року галереєю сучасного ми-стецтва Lenin, фестиваль став не тільки місцем зустрічі провідних українських художників, але і створив унікальну розкуту творчу атмосферу, яка підкорює серця митців і гостей фестивалю. Саме атмосферу ленд-арту ми намагаємося відтворити у фотозвіті цього буклету.

Khortytsya is the largest and the most mysterious island on the Dniper river, a unique natural and historical site located in Zaporizhhya.The first settlements on Khortytsya are dated by scientists as ІІІ – ІІ millennium B.C. Exquisite weaponry, ceramics, even ancient observatories - those are the traces left on the island by developed civilizations.Khortytsya became worldwide known through Cossacs – knights of freedom, distinctive warriors, unrivaled in strength and humor.Creative spirit of the national park is attractive and hypnotizing.Getting in there, one instantly feels himself an artist.That it what makes the fest of environmental art - land-art “Khortytsya” so natural.Founded in 2008 by contemporary art gallery “Lenin”, the festival not only became the meeting point for leading Ukrainian artists, but also created a unique free creative atmosphere which conquers the hearts of artists and guests.We tried to render the special atmosphere of land art in photo-report of the present booklet.
