The four shows were well attended and everyone who had the pleasure of attending were so impressed by the quality of the performances and scale of the production. It is such a wonderful way for Year 6 to finish primary school where they have the opportunity to work collaboratively and creatively with their peers and the chance to explore and celebrate skills in drama, music, visual arts and dance. It was a truly inspirational event that we can all be immensely proud of. Speaking to people who knew Ian Evans, they had no doubt that he would have been very proud of the way his play was performed. I must thank the Lane Cove theatre company for all of their support in the production. It is clear that without this support it would not have been the amazing show we witnessed. In particular, thanks to Emily Patterson and Ross Mildwater who have both put in countless hours in the evenings and on weekends to get things ready. Thank you to Cheryl Oxley and the musicians. Thank you Doug Cardew and his crew for all their time and support with the sound and lighting. Thank you to all the parents who contributed in so many ways – props, costumes, set construction, hair and make-up and canteen. Thank you to the ex-students who returned to help in various functions in the back stage crew. Thank you to all of our fantastic Year 6 teachers, Alan Russell, Simone Di Maria, Bev Cappelaere and Keely Falzon who have put in so many extra hours of time to ensure that the students not only had this opportunity but also to ensure it was of such quality. Lastly my thanks to Pip King who has been the driving force behind the Year 6 play for many years. We are lucky to have someone with the energy, passion and expertise of Pip to lead this wonderful annual event. Congratulations and thank you to all involved.
