Create moments of success. With Berlitz, your continuing education partner
WELCOME
140 YEARS OF BERLITZ: TRADITION MEETS INNOVATION.
2018 is a special year for our company – Berlitz has been a renowned partner in the continuing education market for precisely 140 years, assisting both adults and children all over the world to communicate confidently and effectively. We are proud of the success that people around the world achieve with Berlitz.
We use our experience and the expertise we have steadily built up over the years to develop holistic teaching measures suitable for a globalized world with all its inherent opportunities and challenges – and to deliver innovation. Being ahead of the curve has been the recurring theme throughout our history, starting with the Berlitz Method®, which revolutionized language learning in 1878 when the company was founded. We now offer a portfolio of cutting-edge continuing education opportunities with which you can expand your language skills, intercultural skills, and management and leadership skills, all from a single source. Because the lines between these skill sets are often blurred, seminar content is tailored to your specific requirements.
Of course our teaching methods are also at the cutting edge. While Maximilian Berlitz personally greeted each and every one of the students at his language school, today you can choose between different options. There is an increasing shift toward virtual, teacher-led learning, which is now an integral part of the Berlitz portfolio alongside face-to-face instruction at your local Berlitz Center or company premises – and this can be complemented with our e-learning seminars as part of a blended learning strategy. With eBerlitz in the area of language skills, the Cultural Navigator® for expanding your intercultural competencies, and our Online Live Seminars, you will find that Berlitz offers the perfect solution for covering your continuing education needs flexibly in terms of both time and place.
Even with all the innovation and change of the past 140 years, one thing has remained the same: We are passionate about awaking enthusiasm for foreign languages and cultures, helping our participants to progress both personally and professionally, and facilitating those special moments of success. And this is precisely what we will continue to strive for in the future. We look forward to joining you on your journey!
Best regards,
Mattias SchwarzVice President Europe

140Berlitz: Your continuing education partner since 1878 Helping people learn languages, understand cultures, and build their leadership skills – this is the Berlitz mission. We are very proud to be celebrating a milestone anniversary in 2018. Because 140 years of Berlitz also means 140 years of contributing to global understanding.
It all began in 1878, when Maximilian Berlitz founded his first language school in Providence, Rhode Island. His vision of direct and natural speaking, rather than simply learning by repetition, was quickly embraced by his students. Why? Because not only was this form of language learning more fun – it was also significantly more effective.
The first Berlitz school in Europe was opened soon after in Berlin, in 1888. The business continued to expand in the following years and the Berlitz idea took the world by storm – which it continues to do today.
Berlitz today: Skills that will help you progress As one of the world’s leading service providers in the area of languages and professional training, we offer you a diverse array of communication workshops for the global working world – always flexible, tailored, and in top Berlitz quality. We are motivated by your success!

• More than 300,000 satisfied customers every year

BERLITZ SKILL AREAS
Skills to the power of threeBerlitz training courses focus on communication. But knowledge of foreign languages is not the only skill needed in the working world. There are important and necessary overlaps depending on your personal needs and requirements, which Berlitz covers with its modern instruction in the three areas of language skills, intercultural skills, and management and leadership skills.
CASE STUDY: SENDING AN EMPLOYEE TO THE UNITED STATES
The challenge: Preparing an employee for an assignment in the United StatesCompanies send their employees abroad for good reasons – such as overseeing international projects and customers on site, providing support to global subsidiaries, or promoting intercultural cooperation. But what’s really needed when one of your managers has to travel to the United States, to lead a newly created team on the ground?
The Berlitz solution: A modular training concept comprising three skill areasIf you guessed English language skills, you’re correct – language skills are obviously a key success factor when you send an employee to the United States. Your employee’s future professional challenges are also addressed through the content of the Berlitz language courses and workshops. This allows us to prepare them specifically for situations such as negotiations and meetings conducted in English.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. To successfully live and work in the United States, the manager needs to be aware of their own cultural values and the differences between their own and US culture so that they can manage their new environment and international team members appropriately. Our seminars in the area of intercultural skills are also tailored to your needs and offer valuable interfaces with the other skill areas.
OUR SKILLS
LANGUAGE SKILLSPractical knowledge of a foreign
language for your success
INTERCULTURAL SKILLS
Specific knowledge about values
and behavior, broken down into
six different cultural levels
MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Solid expertise in the areas of
leadership, sales, customer and
project management, working
methods, and communication
10
Depending on your employee’s previous experience and personality, there are various seminars which they can attend to improve their management and leadership skills in preparation for the challenges they’ll face within the team, such as Building, Developing and Managing Teams, Efficient Communication, and How to Resolve Conflicts. We can also conduct all of our seminars in English, allowing your employee to work on their language skills at the same time.
Berlitz: Your partner for global challengesAs a one-stop shop for all three skill areas, Berlitz equips your employee with just what they need to make their time in the United States a success. Our training concept is modular in design, features both face-to-face and online learning periods, and, thanks to our global presence, can be seamlessly continued when your employee arrives in the United States. Each seminar overlaps with the other skill areas in order to provide a holistic solution for your global success.

LANGUAGE SKILLSThe World of Languages
THE WORLD OF LANGUAGES
Language instruction based on your requirementsEveryone who is interested in learning a language, be they a manager or management trainee, a self-employed person or an employee, someone who travels, someone eager to learn, or an online learner, will find their perfect training programme at Berlitz.
All our programmes involve lively dialogue, fun, motivation, excellent teachers and modern content. In other words, top teaching quality from Berlitz.
Training format: You can choose face-to-face instruction directly at your company premises or at your local Berlitz Center. As part of a distance learning or e-learning strategy for your company, you can choose a language program which is not tied to a specific location. Or you can combine the two for a blended learning solution.
Content: Make the most of the flexibility provided by Berlitz by booking a language program featuring specific content that exactly fits your needs. We offer a variety of topics and focal points taken from the real world of business (see page 36 for more information), but we would also be happy to put together a training program specific to you as an individual. You determine the degree of customization.
Language level: Set yourself clear goals and achieve them with Berlitz. We start by assessing your employees’ language skills on the basis of the ten Berlitz levels and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). We then work with you to develop a training plan that makes the most efficient use of your budget and time specifications.
THE BERLITZ METHOD®
Experience that keeps up with the timesOur direct method has been at the heart of Berlitz language teaching since 1878. We have continuously developed our approach to keep pace with the latest educational principles. For example, today personal needs analysis and the use of new media form part of our method.
• Your experience and needs are incorporated into our instruction.
• We focus primarily on actively speaking. This will automatically help you overcome any inhibitions about speaking, improve your fluency, and boost your motivation.
• You will learn grammar naturally based on the situation – the same way that you learned your native language and you experience a foreign language when abroad.
• Listening, reading, writing, and speaking. At Berlitz, you learn with all the senses. And since the content is taught using everyday situations, you will learn more quickly and better retain what you have learned.
• A positive environment allays people’s fears about speaking in public. Small groups, expert and motivational teachers, and an open atmosphere play a major part in your success.
21
BERLITZ LEVELS AND CEF
Standard definitions for language skillsThe Council of Europe’s Common European Reference Framework for Languages (CEF) divides language proficiency into different levels to make the learning of languages and evaluation of language skills more transparent and comparable. Berlitz offers a free language skills assessment before each course. The CEF levels correspond to the ten Berlitz levels and the eBerlitz online points scale (from 0 to 30).
Berlitz Level 1/CEF A1: Your language skills are sufficient to make yourself understood with questions and answers in simple everyday situations.
Berlitz Level 2/CEF A2.1: You possess basic skills in the language and can conduct simple conversations in at least one tense.
Berlitz Level 3/CEF A2.2: You can follow the gist of a conversation on familiar subjects. You can initiate, maintain, and end a conversation, and discuss a range of subjects.
Berlitz Level 4/CEF A2.3: You can understand information on familiar subjects in the relevant context and can hold a conversation on a range of general subjects.
Berlitz Level 5/CEF B1.1: You can hold a conversation and describe things in a coherent way. You can ask and respond to questions in the workplace. You can understand all sentence structures.
Berlitz Level 6/CEF B1.2: You can communicate effortlessly in a variety of professional and private situations, and use a variety of expressions.
Berlitz Level 7/CEF B1.3: You can express views and defend them in discussions. You can handle challenging professional situations and also use the language in demanding situations.
Berlitz Level 8/CEF B2.1: You can communicate efficiently and correctly in demanding activities and situations, and participate in discussions in all environments. You can express yourself in a nuanced manner.
Berlitz Level 9/CEF B2.2: You can communicate in detail and use targeted expressions to add subtlety to discussions on complex topics.
Berlitz Level 10/CEF C1/C2: You can express yourself at an extremely high linguistic level, virtually on a par with a native speaker.

LANGUAGE SKILLSTests and Exams
LANGUAGE TESTS AND EXAMS
Objectively measurable results from day oneIn addition to our general tests used to assess people’s language skills before a Berlitz program (see page 86), we also offer more in-depth language tests for specific areas such as listening and reading, speaking, and writing. These Berlitz tests are an important means of assessing language skills objectively along a standard scale.
Not only do tests give you a clear overview of your employees’ current level of mastery of the foreign language, they are also a great source of information for forming homogeneous learning groups, setting realistic goals, reacting specifically to linguistic weaknesses during courses, and accurately measuring your employees’ progress. All test results align with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and therefore meet international standards.
• Berlitz Test of Listening and Reading Skills This inexpensive multiple-choice test focuses on listening comprehension, reading comprehension, vocabulary,
and grammar in various dialog situations. The 60- to 90-minute test is conducted entirely online, offering maximum flexibility in terms of time and place. Available languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German.
• Berlitz Test of Speaking Skills This phone-based interview, which was developed in association with the University of Illinois, makes it
possible to accurately assess a person’s active language skills in a business context, including appraisal of their pronunciation and intonation. An interview takes approximately 20 minutes and can be conducted in all languages.
• Berlitz Test of Writing Skills This test was likewise developed in association with the University of Illinois. The test results give a detailed
overview of a person’s ability to write in the target language. The test involves various writing tasks encountered in everyday work situations, like emails, memos, and reports. The 60-minute test can be conducted at your business premises or at any Berlitz Center in the world and can be booked for the languages English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Turkish, and Arabic.
External language exams and certificatesBerlitz offers special courses that will thoroughly prepare you for the exams for numerous recognized language certificates. Many Berlitz Centers also serve as official examination centers, for example for TELC (ten languages), TOEIC (English), LCCI (English), TFI (French), and WiDaF (German).

A combination of in-depth preparatory and interim tasks, interactive learning techniques such as teacher input, moderated discussions and feedback, and practical content achieve a lasting learning effect similar to that of face-to-face instruction.
In the case of company groups, a producer/technical assistant can also be provided upon request to help the participants with dialing in and using the various technical functions. During virtual instruction, the producer assists the facilitator with changing the layouts, creating pods, and putting together and overseeing small groups in virtual rooms. The producer may also play an active role, for example by encouraging the participants to take part in role plays and simulations.

To make it easier for you to choose the next topic along a three-step learning path, Berlitz recommends possible combinations of seminars aimed at specific outcomes. INTERCULTURAL SKILLS
COMMUNICATING ACROSS BORDERS
Intercultural training as the key to global successInternational business partners and employees demonstrate different negotiation, cooperation, and management styles in many situations. When global enterprises and individuals who work around the world are aware of these cultural contrasts, it always has a positive impact on business relationships and work processes.
Berlitz’s teaching applies a vivid, practical, diverse, and in-depth approach specifically designed to build your intercultural skills. See for yourself!
Our definition of cultureWe basically see culture as a filter through which we communicate. Our intercultural training approach focuseson six levels of culture in the working world. This makes it considerably more multifaceted and more comprehensive than approaches that only focus on differences in national culture, for example.
The six levels of culture • The organizational level
Relevant for global organizations and mergers and acquisitions
• Individual/interpersonal level Relevant for personal interaction in intercultural settings
• The team (or group) level Relevant for the organizations of international teamwork
• The national/societal level Relevant for market-entry strategies, international HR work, international outsourcing
• The functional level Relevant for working in cross-functional management and project teams
• The identity group level Relevant for diversity initiatives and talent management

INTERCULTURAL SKILLS
Our definition of intercultural skillsAchieving intercultural success is about a whole lot more than merely mastering the usual dos and don’ts. Which is why, instead of merely imparting rules of conduct, our intercultural seminars also relate them directly to your own personality and individual environment.
In our intercultural skills model, we distinguish between internal and external factors, both of which are given equal weighting in our seminars.
Internal factors: Personal values and attitudes • Open Attitude
An interest in other cultures, openness to alternative solutions, curiosity, a willingness to take risks
• Self-Awareness A realistic look at your own personality and cultural orientation
• Other Awareness Awareness of your counterpart’s cultural orientation, an appreciation of diversity
External factors: Factors that we learn over time • Cultural Knowledge
About significant political, historical, geographic, or societal issues
• Cultural Skills A repertoire of alternative means of conduct for appropriate interaction in intercultural situations
Case study: Personal support for international credit card customers
The challenge. A global finance company launched a new and exclusive travel and leisure organization service for its premium credit card customers around the world. The customers were to be given personal support over the phone or in live video conferences. Going forward, the finance company’s staff faced the challenge of deal-ing with customers in all sorts of different countries and having to conduct in-depth support talks. In addition to the foreign language aspects, what the staff needed above all was an understanding of the customers’ cultural backgrounds and country-specific situations based on their own cultural profile, and the ability to take these into account in their communication. The Berlitz solution. Berlitz developed a tailored face-to-face training program for the finance company, focusing on international communication and support. The staff was also able to independently and flexibly work their way through interactive e-learning modules in the Cultural Navigator® (see page 66) containing information specific to the various key countries, for example regarding cultural norms, behaviors, history, politics, and popular events. Regular Online Live Seminars with a Berlitz facilitator guaranteed learning success and allowed it to be implemented over the long term. The result. All the staff who participated in the training program developed improved intercultural skills and sensitivity with regard to dealing with international customers. There was a demonstrable increase in customer satisfaction at the end of the program.

on the topic of placements abroad and a case study, turn to pages 10 and 11.
RELOCATION TRAINING
Prepared to live and work abroad. Due to the international nature of their business, more and more companies are sending employees abroad. Whether it’s “just” a business trip lasting a few months or a placement lasting a number of years, if you plan to be abroad for an extended period, you need to prepare well. Because statistically speaking, almost one in two employees brings their placement abroad to a premature end despite being well-qualified for the job itself.
The proven Berlitz Relocation Training program prepares individuals and families for life in a new country. Working with certified country specialists, you will cover important topics such as dealing with authorities, business partners, friends, and acquaintances. The seminar is available in English, German, or a language of your choice and is modular in design.
Which modules you select will depend, among other things, on your previous experience abroad, the length of your planned stay, and whether your family is going with you. Modules are individual and face-to-face, or online (the seminar can also be completed entirely in the virtual world). Berlitz will work with you to decide where to start and put together a tailored seminar for a successful placement abroad. Upon request, we can also help you with further training once you have arrived at your destination.
Target group • Individuals, couples, and families
Content • Preliminary needs analysis and reflection on your
own cultural identity • On request: an online intercultural assessment with
the Cultural Orientations Indicator® (C.O.I.) • Country information: economics, politics, religion, and society • Establishing contacts and survival strategies for daily life and work • Tips for management, teamwork, negotiations, and conflict management • Focus on business or private life depending on defined objectives

REPATRIATION – WELCOME HOME
Letting you hit the ground running. When employees and their families return home after an extended period abroad, often many things are no longer as they used to be. The returnees have gained new experience and may see many aspects of their home country in a new light. A certain amount of dissonance is inevitable, and the return is often more difficult than anticipated – both professionally and personally.
This course offers practical support, highlights critical aspects, and helps motivate the returnees through discussion, self-assessment techniques, and development of a specific action plan to build motivation.
Target group • International employees and their partners returning from
deployment overseas
Content • On request: an online intercultural assessment with the
Cultural Orientations Indicator® (C.O.I.) • Situation analysis: understanding the return process with all
its opportunities and challenges • Taking stock: new qualifications and skills acquired abroad • Strategy: coping with reverse culture shock in personal and
professional life • A new direction: how can international experience be used
to my advantage?

SKILLS YOU REALLY NEED TO SUCCEED
Management and leadership skills are the all-important bedrock of career success. The art of motivating yourself and others to deliver top performance, using people’s talents correctly, having an eye for the big picture, and turning a vision into reality – all these are skills that can be learned.
Concrete and pragmatic, our seminars help you acquire or further develop specific skills in compact training ses-sions. Many managers have told us the Berlitz seminars often gave their careers a decisive boost at just the right time. Our teachers are international experts, while the areas covered are always at the cutting edge. We will also be happy to tailor our seminars to your specific requirements.
And it’s not always about hard skills – interpersonal and communication skills, motivation and the ability to generate enthusiasm, or your inner attitude toward specific issues are just as important, and can even be what ultimately tip the scales in your favor. Discover what we have to offer!

INFLUENCING WITHOUT AUTHORITY
Relationships built on trust. Teamwork, flat hierarchies, loose business ties, and complex projects mean that the modern-day manager has to be able to win people over and influence them without explicitly exerting their authority. Those who participate in this seminar start out by learning a selection of the most effective techniques for quickly forming relationships. The trust this generates gives them a deeper insight into a person’s needs and enables them to adeptly influence them.
Part 2 of the seminar then focuses on the principles of credibility, continuity, and integrity. By developing an understanding of the other person’s situation and needs, you will learn to adopt the right attitude and use rhetorical aids and arguments to influence them.
Target group • Managers • Project managers and team leaders • Employees with supervisory responsibilities
Content Part 1
• Techniques for greater perception and identification of motives
• Active listening and information analysis • Avoiding conflict – building up trust and
harmony • Key skills for influencing people
Part 2 • Reflection on credibility and consistency • Rhetorical tools and pitfalls • Five steps of persuasion • Self-evaluation

SUCCESSFUL LEADERSHIP IN PRACTICE
How to get off to a good start and assert yourselfManagers are often under immense pressure. While you may be well educated, bursting with up-to-the-minute expertise, familiar with the latest technologies, approach your work with enthusiasm, and have fresh new ideas, you may also lack experience in actual leadership situations – making you less confident in your new role.
This seminar offers a unique combination of interactive training units to help you perform your leadership role competently and authentically. It begins with reflection and exploration of your own leadership role. Our shared goal is to develop a leadership profile that is authentic because it matches your personality. Gain confidence and authority by simulating typical situations encountered at work. Acquaint yourself with practical methods of team building and learn which communication tools are helpful in employee appraisals.
Content and structureThis series of seminars has a unique structure which is perfectly attuned to the needs of busy managers – a face-to-face seminar spread over eight days during a six-month training period:
• It begins with a three-day intensive seminar on the leadership role, leadership tools, and understanding of leadership.
• A second three-day intensive seminar on leadership communication, interviewing, and conflict management follows around two months later.
• The third module, a two-day intensive seminar focusing on the role of the leader as a change manager and including a final presentation, takes place after two more months.
One particular advantage of the seminar is the individual support provided by the trainer throughout the six-month period. The trainer stays in email contact with each participant and provides two coaching sessions via telephone conference. Learning tandems, each comprising two participants, boost motivation and encourage networking and sustainability. Study guides ensure that knowledge is firmly rooted and help participants reflect on their own development goals.

EFFECTIVE DELEGATION
Someone else can handle this. When it comes to delegating effectively and successfully, one of the most important skills is knowing how to empower others to reach the objective – instead of just doing the work yourself. We will show you how to get there.
Drawing on case studies and simulations, you will learn to communicate effectively as a leader, acquire useful techniques, and learn how you can empower your team to be more independent. Not only does this free you up to handle other work – it also helps the others to be more successful, both personally and as a team.
Target group • Managers and management trainees • Project managers, team leaders, and supervisors
Content • The delegation matrix • Delegation and motivation • Checklist for delegating • Verbal delegation
WORKING IN VIRTUAL TEAMS
New work techniques for a new age. As work becomes more global and more flexible, it makes a significant impact on team structures and work methods. Virtual teams are increasingly replacing direct daily contact in the office. This is resulting in new communication, organization, and management challenges. In addition to barriers of space, time, and language, team members often face cultural differences as well.
In this seminar, you’ll gain insights into the advantages and risks of virtual teamwork and develop a playbook for virtual and intercultural communication. Exercises help you learn to avoid communication pitfalls and work on projects successfully – despite the physical distance separating team members.
Target group • Managers and management trainees • Project managers, team leaders, and supervisors
Content • Characteristics and opportunities of virtual teams • Rules of virtual communication • Optimizing organizational structures and processes • Virtual strategies for motivation, supervision,
performance evaluation, and getting results

CHANGE MANAGEMENT
Taking the sting out of change processes. There’s nothing more constant than change – but it is becoming more common and more frequent. These days companies have to adapt rapidly to survive in the market. Yet change processes tend to be unpopular within a company, sowing uncertainty and putting employees under pressure. This means that change management always has a motivational aspect.
This seminar demonstrates how to get teams involved and how employees can grow through change processes. You will learn how to foster communication, innovation, creativity, and networking within your company. These factors are essential when introducing new structures into a company and encouraging everyone to help shoulder the load.
Target group • Managing directors and managers at all levels • Project managers and team and group leaders
Content • Identifying barriers – masterplan for change • Success factor – implementing change correctly • Group dynamics – an indicator of change • Synergies – identification and strategic use • Conflict facilitation – handling difficult teams • Transfer – change management in your company
Most of the seminars can be booked as single- or multiple-day sessions or as four-hour Shorties. Many of the topics are also available as Online Live Seminars. Please contact your local Berlitz team for more information.

HOW TO BEHAVE SUCCESSFULLY IN NEGOTIATIONS
Keeping the good arguments coming. These days, the parties on both sides of the negotiating table are well prepared. The process of persuasion is becoming more and more complex and goodwill alone is no longer enough to sway your counterpart’s decisions. In this seminar, you will analyze your negotiation style and then learn specif-ic techniques that let you state your case adeptly. You will also learn to form clever arguments, take the wind out of the other party’s sails, and fend off attempts at manipulation. The approach is based on the Harvard method for fair discussions and win-win solutions.
In Part 2 of the seminar, you will learn new negotiation strategies and how to deal with unfair tricks. Case studies and simulations reinforce this new knowledge. You will work your way through various argumentation levels and once again intensively practice dealing with counterarguments and uncovering attempts at manipulation.
Target group • Executives, managers, self-employed workers, purchasers,
sales staff, and other professionals
Content Part 1
• Self-assessment: your personal negotiating profile
• Strategic argumentation and persuasion • The four pillars of the Harvard method • Case studies and negotiation simulation
Part 2 • Negotiation methods • Strategies and tricks • Virtual negotiation • Advanced case studies and simulations
IDENTIFYING CUSTOMER NEEDS AND MOTIVES
Sales success made easy. In Part 1 of the seminar, you will learn to better identify your customers’ needs and motives, creatively expand your customer services, and communicate convincingly during sales pitches. This sem-inar equips you with the tools you need for successful sales and customer service, from small talk and conver-sations about products and services to closing techniques. Building on this, the participants use realistic sales simulations to practice structured sales talks and customer service.

In this seminar you will acquire a repertoire of new and proven concepts to help you structure your day better, set priorities, and execute tasks more efficiently or delegate them to others. You will identify and apply you own effective tools to manage your time better and refocus on what really matters.
Part 2 of the seminar focuses on putting things into practice. Among other things, the participants use concrete examples to learn about the effects of multitasking, procrastination, and stress while exploring techniques to counteract them.

RESILIENCE @WORK
Drawing on your own strength in any crisis. Most of us experience opposition, setbacks, and stress on the job due to increasing pressure to perform, interpersonal complications, or an ever greater workload. Resilience is the mental strength a person needs to emerge from a crisis stronger. And the good news is that resilience can be learned using mental techniques, positive routines, and personal best-practice strategies.
Part 2 of the seminar is aimed at team leaders and members looking to establish and improve their resilience in teamwork settings. The seminar focuses on the question of how to apply resilient strategies in your daily work, enabling team members to mutually support one another and come through difficult situations stronger. Resilient group strategies and positive daily rituals are developed together and are laid down in a model team charter.

CREATIVITY TECHNIQUES
This seminar is a good idea. Faced with innovation and change processes, increasingly demanding customers and ever-tougher competition, creativity is a key resource for any company. However, routines, tunnel vision, and the urgency of daily business activities frequently dampen existing potential for creativity and prevent us from tackling tasks in new ways. And yet creativity lies dormant in all of us – it’s simply a question of tapping into it. The secret is to push inhibitions aside, take the road less travelled, and open our minds to new things.
In this seminar, you will learn how to get out of the rut of tired mindsets and approaches. With the aid of both proven and innovative creativity techniques, you will break established patterns to see things from a different perspective, enabling you to focus more sharply on problems, come up with new ideas, and systematize your approaches to finding solutions. At the same time, you will practice and develop effective strategies for selecting suitable ideas.
Target group• Employees at all levels

SPEAKING THROUGH GRAPHICS
Paint an inspiring and exciting picture. This seminar isn’t about creating a picture with words, but rather creating effective hand-drawn sketches for meetings and presentations. These sketches are visual aids that you draw yourself, usually as the audience watches, letting you summarize complex issues with just a few pen strokes. Don’t think you can draw? We’ll show you otherwise!
Together, we take a look at why and in which areas sketches might be useful to you in your daily work. We explain why sketches help people learn more quickly and have better recall. And naturally you will also learn techniques that let you present complex issues memorably using simple drawings.
Target group• Employees at all levels
Content• Why you can express yourself better using sketches• The basics of drawn objects • Integrating drawings into meetings and presentations• Making successful use of sketches in your day-to-day work

In this seminar, you will learn to integrate efficient and respectful communication into your daily life. You will be given pointers regarding how to develop a truly pleasant and amenable communication style that leads to positive results for you and your company.

HOW TO RESOLVE CONFLICTS
No losers, only winners. Within every company there is a lot of potential for conflict, which can negatively impact workplace dynamics and become a problem for everyone. When they are caught up in a conflict, people can quickly lose sight of shared company goals. So what’s the right way to handle disputes within a team and put workplace relationships back on a positive footing? You will be equipped with a self-assessment to analyze your own behav-ior in conflict situations. You will then develop effective strategies for de-escalating and reaching a results-orient-ed understanding, and learn tried-and-tested approaches to handling conflict. Case studies are incorporated into the seminar.
In part 2 of the seminar, you learn the key elements of successful conflict resolution and apply them to a case study. Participants are also invited to share cases of conflict they have experienced themselves.

Moderation techniques give you the necessary tools for delegating tasks, developing solutions, and getting results. A demonstration involving various team roles allows for reflec-tion and transfer.
In part 2 of the seminar, you will learn additional methods of interactive meeting management. You will also look at how to anticipate and head off potential challenges during the planning phase and how to resolve conflicts and other tricky situations that arise during meetings.
