Product Structure Management (BOM)Lantek Expert III BOM is an option designed for companies who develop complex products, i.e. products with a number of components and sub-components.Lantek Expert III BOM enables the full product structure to be simply and intuitively viewed at all times: the associated components and sub-components and their amounts, and the typology and information connected with each one. Cost and Price Management Each company, depending on its type, has a different strategy for calculating costs, sale prices and purchase prices for its products. Lantek Expert III enables costs and prices to be managed for the different product types: manufacture, purchasing, sale, sub-contracting and more. This data is subsequently transferred automatically to each of the business processes: sales, purchases and warehousing.

Product Reserve ManagementIntegrated with the rest of the functional modules, on the launch of a sales order or manufacturing order the system automatically generates the product requirements or reserves so that these orders can be realised.

Also, integrated within the warehousing for each article, a minimum stock or minimum amount can be defined so that the system will generate a product requirement as soon as this amount is reached.

There are different reserve types for each product: sales order, manufacturing and minimum stock, amongst others.

QUOTES

In companies dedicated to the manufacture-to-order of sheet metal products and parts, the quotation process is of considerable significance. Lantek Expert III enables quotes on sheet metal parts to be drafted accurately and quickly. Designed for professionals involved in the quotation process, it does not require advanced expertise in parts design.

Quotation ToolIn a simple and intuitive manner, using a quotation wizard, the system allows for the insertion of the data required for the accurate drafting of the quote.

The data to be inserted are of various types: machine, material, thickness, geometry of the part and sheet metal data. Introduction may also be made of data such as machine preparation time, sheet metal loading /unloading times, supplementary time requirements, etc.

The system carries out nestings automatically, simply by selecting the sheet metal format to be used. Based on that, it calculates the number of parts that can be made with the selected format.

The system’s flexibility makes it straightforward for users to add their own parameters, so that the wizard is fully tailored to suit the company’s specific quotation needs.

Definition of GeometryBy means of Quickdraw technology, the user can define the part’s specifications with a few simple clicks of the mouse. Definition of the part may also be made using a wide-ranging library of parametric shapes, or even by importing the geometry from a DXF file.

Calculating CostsThe end result is a breakdown of the different costs: consumption of material, labour costs and machinery costs. For each one of the cost types, the user may increase or decrease the required profit and recalculatethe quote with different values.

Integration of quotes with salesOnce the quote is generated and accepted by the customer, the user might generate a sale order. All the information of the quote is transferred automatically to the sale order, minimizing time in data processing. Later on it might be transferred also to the manufacturing process and the delivery note and sale invoice generated. Once the customer has accepted the quote and it becomes a definite order, the system automatically

creates and records the part, in the part database. Past record of quotesAll quotes generated by the wizard are recorded in a quote log file. The user may at any time re-launch a closed quote, modify specific data and run it once more.

Price ComparisonThe system provides the option of comparing prices. Once a job has been performed with a machine with a specific technology, a calculation can also be made of what it would cost to perform the same task using a machine with a different technology.

SALES

Lantek Expert III Sales has been specially designed to cater for all those needs associated with the sales cycle of a company in the sheet metal processing sector.

It allows for full traceability and management of a sales order, and the products or parts it contains. It supplies all the employees involved in the sales process with the necessary information at any given moment.

Integration of sales with quotation and manufacturing processThe different stages involved (quotes, sales orders, manufacturing operations, delivery notes and invoices) are perfectly integrated so the information is automatically relayed from one stage to the next.For example, when an order is to be invoiced, all that is required is to tell the system which order is involved, and all the information is transferred to the invoice.Likewise, we can issue production orders in response to sales orders, generating the entire production list required for servicing the order.

Management of sales ordersThe input of orders may be made either on the basis of an accepted quote, or by creating it specifically or importing a purchase order received from the customer. In the first case, all the products, as well as their prices, are copied in full, with the option available in all cases of modifying all the items on the order and their prices, terms, etc.

The system even allows for including components or parts that already exist in the database. In such cases, it creates them by directly accessing the products module.

The persons responsible for managing these orders are regularly informed of their progress. They can therefore verify, for example, whether a specific product has already been manufactured, or in the case of an assembly, the system informs them of the time remaining for production to be completed. Managed correctly, all this information allows for customers to be provided with a better service and to be kept up-to-date at all times on progress in the production process.

Management of sales delivery notesThe despatch of manufactured products is recorded by the module for delivery notes.In order to facilitate the task of issuing delivery notes, the module provides access to the orders that are to be despatched, and transfers all the data recorded in them. Once the despatch has been made, it is recorded as sent, whilst control is maintained at all times over orders and their status. Nonetheless, delivery notes can be issued directly (without the need for an order).

When a new delivery note is issued, it considers the warehouse stock which would then be updated automatically.

InvoicingInvoicing may be made against a sales order, against a delivery note, or an invoice may be drafted from scratch in a situation where other documentation isn’t required.

MANUFACTURINGLantek Expert III Manufacturing (Production) is a management system for the production process in manufacturing companies belonging to the sheet metal processing sector.

One of the main problems facing companies in this sector involves the monitoring of the work performed during the different stages of the production process. Imagine a job or order consisting of over three hundred parts and that you would like to know what stage each one of these iscurrently at. Imagine being able to arrange flexible groupings according to machine, material and thickness in the various production processes.

Lantek Expert III Manufacturing provides you with a solution to all these problems. The system is fully integrated with the design solution and machine programming (CAD/CAM), Lantek Expert II.

With a single system, we supervise the entire traceability of the product. By selecting a product or a part, we can access all the information for it, either regarding its design, the nesting it belongs to and the order in which it was generated, or concerning the production stage it is at.

Generation of Manufacturing OrdersThe generation of manufacturing orders and operations may take place on the basis of either sales orders or the items module. This generation may also be made by importing an order or a purchase order generated by an external program. When generating an order against a sales order, the user may easily access the information from each sale for any part of the production process. Organisation and grouping of Manufacturing Operations This gives the user advanced functions for grouping the parts according to different criteria such as: machine, material, thickness, delivery date, sales order, customer and so on. From here, you can select the parts that need to be nested and access the nesting module directly..

The main advantage of this module is that it provides the user with real time information on the status of a part or of a series of parts; such as, whether they are at stand-by, nesting, under production or finished. Each status has its own colour-coding, which makes it extremely user-friendly.

The transfer from Lantek Expert III Manufacturing to the CAD/CAM modules for cutting and punching is immediate; selection is made of the operations that contain the parts to be nested and the program generates a procedure and sub-procedures that end with the nesting and machining module. The user may access the Drawing module at any time and modify the geometry of a part or machining operation.

Validation of Operations and Cost Management in real time Once the nests have been generated and sent to the workshop, all the production processes are ready to be validated. By means of the module for validating work vouchers, recording is made ofthe real production time, as well as of the consumption of raw material. The module permits the validation of all kinds of product-related operations: cutting/punching, bending, painting, shot-blasting and so forth.Finally, and for those manufacturing orders/operations selected, a comparison may be made between costs estimated initially (standard cost) and true costs for a specific production launch (current cost).

MANUFACTURING CONTROL SYSTEM (WOS)Lantek Wos is a system for the control and monitoring of production, designed for companies working with sheet metal (oxycutting, plasma, laser, water jet and punching machinery). This system includes a specific control from the office, included in Lantek Expert III, and called Lantek Wos Office, and another enabling the operator to control machining, Lantek Wos Workshop.

Monitoring and Validation of the Manufacturing Process (from office and workshop)Designed for operating with the Lantek Expert CAD/CAM programming system and the production management system Lantek Expert III, it permits the production manager to choose which work centre or machine is to carry out each job and subsequently deliver it to the workshop.

Lantek Wos Office provides the option of monitoring nestings in real time and verifying the production of any order at any given moment.

Lantek Wos Workshop enables the operator to display the nestings pending on their computer and process all the necessary information for machining them

Powerful display of nestingsLantek Wos includes multiple options for the full display of information associated with nestings:

- 2D nesting design.- List of pending nests: the system lists the nests loaded, as well as their status. It

also allows for modifying their order and even changing machine. - Turret configuration when punching machines are used. It also includes information

on the die, the diameter of the punch required or the angle at which it should be placed.

- Numerical control (CNC) of the nests.- Data on the parts: the user may check each one of the parts that make up the nests

and their quantity (information is provided for each one in terms of length, height, cutting perimeter, rectangular and external area, etc.).

- Process and machine times: knowing the time the machine takes to make the nest.- Graphic and intuitive display: the interface for performing the tasks consists of only

three buttons: start, cancel and stop. Through the use of colours, the user can identify each stage of the operation at any given moment, as well as possible errors or setbacks of any other kind.

Lantek Wos allows us to simulate the palletisation of the parts that make up a nest. This makes it possible to display and configure the work to be performed by a machine operating with parts located on the same pallet.

Preparation and palletisation tasksIt is possible to define and customise the tasks of preparing and completing the work beforehand, so as to make the job easier for the workshop operator and more accurately calculate the estimated time for carrying out the task.

Updating the turretIn the case of punching machines, Lantek Wos updates the turret in order to machine the nest. If any of the tools or die clearances don’t match the previous turret layout, the system allocates it a different colour. This option can be performed both automatically and manually.

Cost ManagementOnce the work and operations have finished, the data screen displays an exhaustive overview. This allows the user to verify any deviation existing between the estimated time and the real time.

Completely with the entire Lantek Expert III ERP, it processes the associated transactions such us direct delivering, replenishment, picking and purchasing. It provides updated information on stock levels, as well as their value.

Compatibility with business processes Given that it is an integral management system, Lantek Expert III Inventory connects each and every one of the functional modules with each other. The system therefore enables you keep up-to-date with the stockpiled quantities of the company’s products, make specific warehouse despatches for sales orders, manufacturing orders, entrances of purchases made, etc. The information on products, quantities required-available, associated costs, etc, is automatically transferred from the warehouse module to the functional modules involved in each case.

Inventory Costs ManagementOnce the chosen method for cost calculation has been selected (FIFO, LIFO or Average), each time the user makes a movement, warehouse input-output, the system updates the cost of the products automatically. This means that when purchase material is received, a purchase delivery note and status change orders are generated automatically, indicating that it has been received and that there is an associated delivery note.
