Large Group Fitness Fun The purpose of this activity session for K-12 educators is to share various large group fitness circuits and activities that can be modified to any level and provide a challenging, efficient, and fun learning environment for all class sizes. Utilize pedometer technology for accountability that helps motivate students and allow for high expectations of your learners! Learn activities you can use immediately. Circuit Training Goals: Accommodate large groups Simple Setup & Takedown Minimal Equipment Can modify to meet needs Use student choice* Pedometers: Use Daily! Establish Routine (Attendance & Instant Activity) “You Shake it, I Take It”….”Once On, Never Off” Setting MVPA & Physical Activity Time Goals: Set students up for success and then work into use as assessment tool. “Four Corner” Fitness Setup as Instant Activity

Four Corner Fitness Warm-up

Students move at own pace from corner to corner. Completing each dynamic warmup movement listed in order shown. They complete ALL #1’s on their first round then move on to #2’s on so on. !*FAVORITE ADD-ON: Rock-Paper-Scissors in every corner! Winners moves to next corner. Loser finds new player. Rotate if lose 3x in a row.

= Fit Spot Exercise

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10

Student & partner switch places before rotating. They will do the Jump Rope and Fit Spot one time each and then move down one spot. When done with spot #10 go back to start (spot #1). It’s a good idea to make #1 a rest station.

Larger classes: Put three students per station and add another exercise or a footwork drill (side to side hops, etc.)

Use same setup as above BUT: alternate fit spots with QuickCup Stack Challenges. Students practice stacking skills and is a fun REST station that keeps them engaged.

Rep-N-Run Circuit Setup• Each student pair is at

a spot (or mini cone) for their “home base”!!

• Each pair or group has own equipment: jump rope, exercise band, etc. & handout.!!

• You can modify the number of laps per switch (start at 1) and also the mode of movement (jog, skip, grapevine, etc.)
