Modern plasma and laser beam cutting methods for the thermal cutting of heavy plate to make parts orcomponents offer a number of advantages over conventional oxy-fuel flame cutting:

Surface condition and tolerances, minimum order quantities

1.  Coil plates:

By agreement at the time of ordering the plates can be supplied in the following surface conditions:

- As-rolled- pickled and oiled (3 to 6 mm thickness, maximum width 1650 mm)- shot blasted and primed (7 to 10 mm thickness).

Width tolerance: -0 / +3 mm.Length tolerance: -0 / +5 mm.

Reduced flatness tolerance according to EN 10029 :

Plate thickness 3 < 5 mm : max. 4 mm / m flatness tolerance,

Plate thickness ≥ 5 mm : max. 3 mm / m flatness tolerance.

Other tolerances (thickness, weight, squareness, camber): according to EN 10051.Minimum order quantity: Coil yield, i.e. 15 to 30 t depending on grade and size.

2.  Quarto plates:

The plates are supplied shot-blasted and primed (Zinc silicate shopprimer, coating thickness 12 - 20 µm).Tolerances to EN 10029,Reduced flatness tolerance to EN 10029: max. 3 mm / m.

Recommended marking and packaging

1.  Coil plates:

The plates are given an ink marking consisting of: manufacturer’s symbol, coil number, short name with extension“LC”. Die stamping on primed plates, otherwise only if ordered explicitly or required by specifications. For paint

marking of primed coil plates see “Quarto plates” section.

2.  Quarto plates:

The plates are die stamped with the plate number and given a paint marking. The paint marking comprises: code,

order and item number, plate number, grade name with extension “LC”. Small plates ≤ 4000 mm in length and ≤

2000 mm in width are bundled with steel strapping, longer plates are supplied unstrapped.

General information

Our high-quality LaserCut plates are handled with the utmost care in our plants. After shipping, the plates /bundles should also be treated carefully and properly during stacking and handling to rule out negative effects on

processing properties (flatness / stresses).

As with all cutting processes, high cut quality at highest-possible cutting speeds requires careful matching of allcutting parameters.
