LASERSTRUKTURIERUNG VON FORMEN UND OBERFLÄCHEN
Lasermikrostrukturierung funktionaler
Oberflächen und Mikrogeometrien
Die Mikrostrukturierung mithilfe eines
Lasers ermöglicht eine präzise Bearbeitung
unterschiedlichster Mikrostrukturen. Werk-
stoffe, die mit konventionellen Fertigungs-
verfahren nur noch schwer strukturierbar
sind, können unabhängig von Härte,
Zähigkeit oder elektrischer Leitfähigkeit
bearbeitet werden. Gleichzeitig lassen sich
Strukturen mit Abmessungen von wenigen
Mikrometern herstellen.
Forschungsarbeiten am Fraunhofer IWU
konzentrieren sich auf die 2½D- und 3D-
Mikrostrukturierung von Prägewerkzeugen
für das Heißprägen medizinischer Fluidsysteme
sowie auf die Oberflächenstrukturierung
technischer Komponenten beispielsweise
zur Reibwertreduzierung. Die Anwendung
der Ergebnisse auf 3D-Freiformoberflächen
sowie die Kombination der Laserbearbei-
tung mit dem Mikrofräsen ist gegenstand

LASER STRUCTURING OF SHAPES AND SURFACES
Laser micro-structuring of functional
surfaces and micro-geometries
Micro-structuring by laser enables precise
machining of various microstructures.
Materials regardless of hardness, tough-
ness and electrical conductivity can be
processed, which are very hard to be
structured with conventional manufactur-
ing processes. At the same time, structures
with dimensions of a few micrometers can
be generated. Fraunhofer IWU is currently
focusing on 2½D and 3D micro-structuring
of the molding tools for hot embossing of
medical fluid systems as well as on surface
structuring of technical components,
among other aspects, for reduction of
friction. The application of the results on
3D freeform surfaces and the combination
of laser processing with micro-milling
is subject of current investigations. This
allows the use of the advantages of both
processing methods.
