Ruts – Build a BikeWe're offering six young people aged 14-19 years old who are residents of Midlothian
the chance to build their own bicycle from scratch. The best part is they'll get to keep the bicycle after the course!
We are asking young people to write 50 words to explain why they are the best choice for a place on the course. We will be looking for young people to explain why
they are interested in the course and how they plan to use the bike after they complete the course. Once they've written their entry they should send it to <http

Closing date for entries is Wednesday 7th October
We're looking for young people who would really benefit from the experience and use the bike they build after the programme.
It will be a five day course run from Monday 12th October - Friday 16th October. The course will run each day from 10am - 3pm.

The training programme
Through a mixture of work placements and college modules you will develop the key engineering skills and knowledge to work effectively in a high technology manufacturing company, gaining the necessary academic credits for a HNC in Engineering Systems, before going on to specialise in one of a range of engineering disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or Quality Engineering, in which you will complete a relevant HND.
Entry requirements
Entry requirements:- 3 Highers (A-C) to include Maths and Physics plus another Higher subject, preferably a Technological subject e.g. Graphic Communication, Product Design, Craft & Design, Tech Studies, Computing etc. (A-C) AND National 5 (A-C) or equivalent qualification in English.

The company is currently advertising business apprenticeship vacancies based in Edinburgh.
The training programme
The two-year Business Apprenticeship scheme provides a variety of experiences through placements in business related disciplines. Placements available include Commercial, Finance, Resourcing, Procurement and Project Planning/Support.
You will study for the Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Business Studies on day release, as well as undertaking the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 in business administration and Core Skills while you are at work.
Entry requirements
2 Highers (A-C) to include Maths OR English AND a Business subject such as Business Management and or National 5 or equivalent in English and Maths.
