Next DOMS concert - CLASSIC BLUE (Dec 7)

A foray into the classical side of jazz with a focus on the music of George Gershwin, including arrangements of Rhapsody in Blue and Three Preludes.

Peter Crouch, trumpet & Nick Rodgerson, piano

A gifted soloist and collaborative artist, Pedro Molina has performed with orchestras including the Peru National Orchestra, the Orchestre du Conservatoire de Bordeaux, the Orchestre de l’Université de Montréal, the Orchestre de l’Agora and the Orchestre symphonique de l’Estuaire. In 2013, he was awarded first prize in the Université de Montréal’s Concerto Competition and has subsequently been invited to the Carl Nielsen Competition in Denmark.

Hailing from Wingham, Ontario, Thomas Beard has performed across Canada, the USA and Europe as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. Notable engage-ments include playing with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada (2009 and 2010), wining the Stratford and McGill Chamber Music Competitions (2011 and 2014) and being a founding member of ensemble Verisimo. Thomas Beard is currently pursuing Masters studies at McGill University under the tutelage of Yegor Dyachkov.

Tomoko Inui is a citizen of the world. She was given the Bruneau Prize for her exceptional solo recital while at McGill University. She has worked as an official accompanist at Queens University, served as organist at Église Saint Arsène in Montreal, and a pianist for the Montreal West Operatic Society. She is a founder of Tomo-pianists-Trio and HATO piano Duo, which have received concert engagements from maison de la culture, among other venues since 2006.
