Justice for Berta and Beyond: The Fight Against Impunity and Corruption in Honduras 7 P.M. | Arts & Sciences Room 113 The 2009 military coup in Honduras has cemented the nation as a hotbed of human rights abuses. Martín Fernández, the National Coordinator of the Movement for Dignity and Justice, will discuss this organization’s work and how the U.S. contributes directly to the ongoing crisis. Co-sponsored by MU Voz Latina, Cambio Center, Peace Studies, and the Multicultural Center. Join us for this annual event that recognizes Latin@ culture and heritage. Centro Latino de Salud First Friday of the Month Dinner | 6-8 P.M. | Centro Latino - 609 Garth Ave. Support an amazing community organization in our very own town of Columbia. Centro Latino’s monthly dinner fundraisers are not only delicious but a fun way to connect with others in the Columbia community! Sponsored by Centro Latino. Casos de Salud/Cases of Health in the Latin@ Community | 7 P.M. | Multicultural Center El Grito | 7 P.M. | Kuhlman Court (Rain Location: Multicultural Center) EL Grito de Dolores, which translates to “the cry of Dolores”, is known as the cry and recognizes independence for Mexico. This event will celebrate that independence as well as provide context to the history of El Grito! Sponsored by the Association of Latin@ American Students.
