Due to water weight being eliminated the garment becomes an ultra performance piece of equipment—essential to your body’s needs of maintaining a safe and secure temperature. Whether worn as a stand-alone garment, under your wetsuit or even clothing, Polytherm is guaranteed to keep you well insulated, flexible, lightweight and free from windchill.

Polytherm is ETU-free. What does that mean for you?

Ethylene Thioureas (ETU) is used as an accelerator that is used in the curing process of rubber/neoprene production. It is present to a lesser or greater degree in all neoprene products. If it was not used in the production/curing process; it would literally take months to cure rubber or neoprene based products.

ETU is NOT used in the production of the PU membrane or any of the laminating adhesives that are in our “Polytherm” material. Therefore, Polytherm and our LavaCore products are “ETU-free”.

The seat panels in the Elite shorts and pants and the collar and wrist cuffs on the Elite Jackets do have neoprene panels. The same is true of The Extreme Long Sleeve Shirt which has neoprene in the torso area. So a person with an allergy to ETU would need to avoid those products.

LavaCore FabriC GenetiCsLavaCore Essential Exposure Protection Garments use a simple yet effective layering formula. We combine Ultraflex Durable outer Protection, a Waterproof/ breathable inter-Membrane and an insulative thermal inner Layer.

It is the unique combination of these layers that make our fabric float between lines not yet crossed by anything on the market. Part Neoprene, Part Lycra, Part Thermal. Call it what you like but this range has to be worn to be believed, the fabric stands in a league of its own. The unique synthetic construction closely matches the stretch and movement of a traditional Lycra rash vest, yet provides the insulation qualities similar to that of a Thermal and remains neutrally buoyant, working in harmony with water like a Neoprene wetsuit. See our dilemma? Therefore, LavaCore has been born.

Nature’s gift of warmth, is used in panels throughout LavaCore Essential Exposure Protection.

It is well known that Merino is nature’s most super powered warming and insu-lating fiber. From the remote farmlands of New Zealands rugged South Island comes the most superior and finest of Merino Wools.

The fiber make-up of Merino wool means:

Seam Construction All of the LavaCore seams are overlapped during fl atlock sewing to ensure maximum water integrity and reduced water fl ow through the seams. Maximum heat retention is therefore achieved when worn in colder water conditions. Double fl at-locked seams also allow for maximum stretch without compromising at seam edges.

Polytherm Tri-LaminatePaired with the outer shell and the inter PU layer, the integrated Polytherm fl eece ensures a very high heat and insulation rating. The PU fi lm layer gives this combination added water resistance and high protection from windchill. Used in areas where extreme heat retention is required.

Polytherm Bi-LaminateA more breathable and fl exible version of the Tri-Polytherm, this combination of Polytherm fl eece without the Inter PU layer provides a high heat rating with more breathability. Used in areas where warmth is still needed but extra movement and excessive sweating may occur.

Merino Tri-LaminateCombining the outer shell and the inter PU layer, this fabric composition ensures a high heat rating and stable climate control. the PU fi lm layer gives the fabric added water resistance and protection from windchill. Used in areas that demand climate control while maintaining heat.

Merino Bi-LaminateA more breathable and fl exible version, this combination of fabric provides the ultimate in climate control while maintaining a fair heat against the skin by removing the PU fi lm layer. Used in areas where warmth is still needed but extra movement and sweating occurs.

Merino NeopreneA unique combination of heat-generating and retaining fi bers—the heat rating is superior to most yet not as breathable as the tri- or bi- merino fabrics due to the insulative Neoprene inter. Used where extra impact protection is needed.

GENERAL WARRANTY INFORMATIONIf the garment is found to be defective under normal use and proper care, LavaCore International will repair or replace the garment at our sole discretion. The decision to replace or repair a product is made by the LavaCore Warranty Department after receipt of the defective garment. At no time does LavaCore offer refunds. Defective garments should be returned clean and dry, postage prepaid.

We offer a one-year limited warranty on materials and workmanship from date of original purchase from an authorized LavaCore dealer.

Garments needing repair must be returned to place of purchase, or other authorized LavaCore dealer. Contact the place of purchase or authorized LavaCore dealer to make arrangements with the repair department. Send detailed information on areas of garment needing repair. Repairs or replacements will be determined upon inspection by a LavaCore International representative. NO WARRANTY REPAIR WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT ORIGINAL RECEIPT. If returning for REPAIR, all products must be CLEAN and DRY.

(If garment is within 1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY): Party requiring repair must pay for shipping cost sending in the garment. (If garment warranty has expired): All repairs must be at cost to be determined by a LavaCore International. Party requiring repair must pay for shipping cost for both sending in and returning of the garment.
