Who are the Who are the Dominicans?Dominicans?
✴ Order of Preachers (a.k.a. Dominicans).
✴ Founded in 13th century by St Dominic.
✴ Today, the sons and daughters of St Dominic comprise friars, enclosed nuns, laity.
✴ Dominicans devote themselves to the salvation of others by preaching the Word of God and proclaiming the name of our Lord Jesus Christ throughout the world

One of the most influential theologians of the 20th century on the topic of the Catholic Church and ecumenism and influenced also the thinking of Pope John Paul II from the year 1946 onwards.
Very active in the ecumenical movement and the first Catholic to contribute seriously to that scholarly discussion, Congar was once removed from teaching or publishing for a time, during the time of Pope Pius XII.
