(FWRH) “Walk-for-Wells.” This is a unique program intended to involve students in community service and to support local agencies serving homeless families. All monies collected from our walk will go directly to Friends of Wells/Robertson House, Inc., a local program helping homeless families achieve independence. Participation in this event models our commitment to educate our students regarding the importance of social responsibility and aligns with our core beliefs. Registered students and staff members will walk through the community to support efforts of Friends of Wells Robertson House. The walk will take place Wednesday, October 29, 2014 beginning at 2:00 p.m. Led by our principal, Mrs. Sagona, we will exit the building onto Montgomery Avenue (the street right behind the building). We will walk down Montgomery Avenue to Sunset Drive, turn right on Sunset Drive and then make a left on Second Street. From there we will walk down Second Street until it ends at Sundown Road. From there we will turn around and follow the same route back to school. We will have Montgomery County Police officers present to help ensure our safety as we walk. There are two forms that must be completed for your child to participate in the walk. The first form is the school permission slip and is attached to this letter. The second form is the FWRH Walk-For- Wells registration/T-Shirt order form. A monetary donation is NOT a requirement to participate in the walk. The only requirement for participation is to have the two forms signed by a parent/guardian and returned to school by October 10 th . Only those students who submit both the signed registration form (attached) and the school permission slip (attached) will be allowed to participate in the walk. Any student who submits the $10 registration fee will also receive a Walk-for-Wells T-shirt. Money and forms MUST be turned in by Friday, Oct. 10 th to guarantee your shirt in time for the walk. Students turning in money after Oct. 10 th will get their shirt, but it may be after the walk. Any student not walking will participate in an alternate activity at school. We welcome and encourage volunteers to help chaperone. Joining us in the walk is a great way to exercise, show your school support, and donate to an excellent cause. Students who hold the student accident policy available at the beginning of each school year or at the time of entry are covered on an approved field trip within the liability limits of the policy as described in the insurance brochure. The Montgomery County Board of Education maintains public school bus liability insurance within the limits required by the Maryland State Department of Education. Parents may consider that they provide such additional coverage as they may desire in excess of the above limits.

Estimados padres de familia,

Laytonsville Elementary School se complace en participar en los Amigos de Wells Robertson House, Inc. (FWRH)

"Walk-a-Wells." Este es un programa único que pretende involucrar a los estudiantes en el servicio a la comunidad

y para apoyar a las agencias locales que atienden a familias sin hogar. Todo el dinero recaudado de nuestro paseo

irá directamente a Amigos de Wells / Robertson House, Inc., un programa local de ayuda a las familias sin hogar

lograr la independencia. La participación en este evento modela nuestro compromiso de educar a los estudiantes

sobre la importancia de la responsabilidad social y se alinea con nuestras creencias básicas. Los alumnos

matriculados y miembros del personal tendrá que caminar a través de la comunidad para apoyar los esfuerzos de

Amigos de Wells Robertson House. La caminata se llevará a cabo Miércoles, 29 de octubre 2014 a partir de las 14:00

Dirigido por nuestra directora, la señora Sagona, vamos a salir del edificio en Montgomery Avenue (la calle justo

detrás del edificio). Vamos a caminar por la avenida Montgomery a Sunset Drive, gire a la derecha en Sunset Drive

y girar a la izquierda en la segunda calle. A partir de ahí vamos a caminar por la calle Segunda hasta que termina

en el camino de puesta del sol. A partir de ahí vamos a dar la vuelta y seguir el mismo camino de vuelta a la

escuela. Tendremos agentes de la Policía del Condado de Montgomery presentes para ayudar a garantizar nuestra

seguridad mientras caminamos.

Hay dos formularios que deben ser completados para que su hijo participe en la caminata. La primera forma es la

forma de permiso escolar y se adjunta a la presente. La segunda forma es la FWRH Walk-A-Wells registro / T-Shirt

formulario de pedido. Una donación monetaria no es un requisito para participar en la caminata. El único requisito

para participar es tener las dos formas firmada por el padre / tutor y retornar a la escuela por 10 de octubre. Sólo

aquellos estudiantes que presenten tanto el formulario firmado de inscripción (adjunta) y el formulario de permiso

escolar (que se adjunta) se le permitirá participar en la caminata. Cualquier estudiante que presente la cuota de

inscripción de $ 10 también recibirán un Walk-a-Wells T-shirt. Cualquier estudiante que no camina participará en

una actividad alternativa en la escuela.
