Inspection / QC Engineer

Welding engineering and quality control of welding:

• Quality Control of welding for Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel and Non-ferrous metals.

• Selection of electrodes for welding various types of steels, welding procedure and welders performance qualification test as ,etc

• Preparation of repair method statement and Work Plan for tank, piping and pressure vessel.

• Preparation and review of WPS, PQR, and WPQ as per ASME SEC IX , AWS D1.1, API 1104 , EN15614, etc and owner specification;

• Inspect the Welding to be employed at Site and the qualifications of the welders operating within the plant, according to Project Specifications and Standards.

Inspection of static equipment of petrochemical industry:

• Experience in on and off-stream inspection of stationary equipment like Heaters, Columns, Vessels, Reactors, Air Coolers, Heat Exchangers, Boilers, Storage Tanks, Horton Spheres, Piping System, Structures, Insulation .

• Determining retirement thickness for piping, pressure vessels, storage tanks etc. based on design and operational conditions.

• Witnessing and certifying hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of stationary equipment during shutdown and commissioning of equipment.

• Preparing Preventive Maintenance Schedule and Shut down job list for static equipment.

Failure analysis and metallography:

• Study, analysis and preparation of reports of various equipment failures in the refinery with the help of Chemical/Mechanical testing and Metallurgical laboratory practices.

• Insitu Metallography: Sample preparation for insitu Metallography, microstructural study of different samples.

Non-destructive testing and other condition monitoring: ·

• Develops and/or reviews Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure

Qualification Records (PQR), Weld Performance Qualification (WPQ) records, work instructions, customer requirements, proposals, reports, and other technical welding related documentation.

• Ensure that the welding, heat treatment, hardness testing, inspection and non-destructive testing are in compliance with the relevant codes and specifications.

• Control and monitoring of welding consumables and it’s storage at construction site and fabrication shop.

• Monitoring of Site Welding activity’s (Preparation, alignment, consumable, drying of electrodes, Purging, Preheat…).

• Responsible for maintaining safe working environment for all personnel working on the job site.

• Coordinate with engineering and construction staff as well as liaise with clients on welding requirements

• Review Contractor’s method statements, QC procedures, ITP and Quality Plan and assist with establishing acceptable working practices for construction activities.

• Monitor delivery of permanent materials and ensure the quality of products / consumables / materials comply with requirements of established Standards & Specifications.

• Perform routine surveillance, inspection , monitoring, auditing & assurance of Contractor’s site activities(Fabrication and Welding, NDT, Coating and Painting) in accordance with the Projects and Contractors, specifications, ITP and Quality Plans.
