LBARA LOOKS FOR NEW HAMS AT THE
BASSMASTERS FISHING TOURNAMENT
Charlie Kotan, K0TAN, set up a display at the Bass Masters Fishing Tournament
held on May 9th and 10th to recruit new hams and introduce current hams to
LBARA. On Saturday he was joined by Bob Ideker, KB5VUH, Russ Nyblom,
K7RUS, Doug Tebo, K9DLT, and Mary Tebo, K7HAV. Bob worked the crowd
and demonstrated Echolink while Doug and Mary engaged passers by. Joe Mer-
rill, KF7RNT, Peter Van Baggen,
VA7RI, and Tim Lotspeich, KX7P,
stopped by along with several other
hams to say hello.
On Sunday, Doug and Mary came back
to help out. It was fun until the wind
kicked up, so they packed up and left in
mid afternoon. All this work resulted in
some hams who may join LBARA and
some folks interested in getting their li-
cense.
Russ, K7RUS and Charlie, K0TAN hard at work.

Field Day At The Paul Bunyan
Amateur Radio Club, Bemidji, MN
Here’s a great video (one of a couple of their FD videos) of this Club’s FD activities. This FD video also
includes a nice interview of AA7BQ, the President and Founder of QRZ.COM. Most of you have used
QRZ for ham radio information on QSL routes, individual ham station web pages, equipment sales,
and so much more. Wild weather at the FD site, but a very interesting look at the QRZ site.
