The Northeastern Retail
Lumber Association
invites you to LBM
Expo ’17 in Providence,
Rhode Island, February
15-17, 2017, located at
the Rhode Island Con-
vention Center.
LBM Expo is the largest regional event in the
lumber and building material industry. By exhibit-
ing and sponsoring at LBM Expo ’17, you have the
advantage of knowing that everyone you speak to
has an interest in or use for your product or service.
Manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors of
lumber and building materials and related technolo-
gies, as well as companies offering business services
to the industry, are afforded the opportunity to
infl uence and interact with principals, owners, and
qualifi ed buyers.
Today, more than ever before, sales & marketing
is about relationships. We are continuing to move
away from the traditional practice of solely push-
ing products. Instead, the emphasis is on building
strong, genuine connections with customers. LBM
Expo ’17 offers the opportunity in this changing
industry to meet face-to-face with prospects and
clients. What better way to build a solid relationship
with a customer than meeting them in person?
One of the most valuable things you’ll be given
at LBM Expo ’17 is time. When an attendee ap-
proaches you, you’ll have their undivided attention
and the opportunity to educate them in a way that
is more effective, personal and hands-on than email
blasts and marketing fl yers. At LBM Expo your target
audience is directly in front of you. You can intro-
duce them to your product or service, show your
passion for what makes your company different, out-
line your unique value proposition and show them
why they should do business with you. LBM Expo ’17
is the ideal place for networking. Where else can you
potentially interact with so many prospects and deci-
sion makers under one roof? This is an environment
that fosters building lasting connections.
Finally, we understand the importance of ded-
icated exhibit hall hours to the trade show experi-
ence. In planning for LBM Expo ’17, we are commit-
ted to reducing events that take attendees off the
trade show fl oor during exhibit hours.
2017 is the year when the Lumber & Building
Materials Industry will “Come Together” for
LBM Expo!

DO YOU HAVE THE BEST PRODUCT OF LBM EXPO ’17?New products are in demand by our LBM audience every year. Products that qual-
ify for the NEW classifi cation must be NEW to the lumber and building material in-
dustry since the last Expo (Feb. 10-12, 2016). A product that has been available in
the industry and just recently added to an exhibiting company’s product line does
not fi t the criteria for a NEW product. All submissions will go through a verifi ca-
tion process. LBM Expo ’17 Retail Attendees will vote for the Best New Product of
LBM Expo ’17 from among the approved new product submissions.
IT’S MORE THAN NEWMake the most of your participation in LBM Expo ’17. There are free opportunities for you to highlight
the products you are marketing at the show—on-site, in print and online. This year we have marketing and
promotion options available to all exhibitors. For complete information, including latest exhibitor offerings,
green products, show specials, interactive fl oor plan and video promotional opportunities to make your
company’s booth stand out at LBM Expo ’17, visit www.lbmexpo.com.
All forms must be submitted by Dec. 15, 2016. You may submit your forms to the convention and meetings
department via email at [email protected] or fax (518) 286-1755.

MEMBER CORNER FEES: NON-MEMBER CORNER FEES: $100 per corner (two corners max) $200 per corner (two corners max)
8x10 booth spaces are limited to new exhibitors or companies that have not exhibited since 2012.
All booth fees are due in full by Friday, Aug. 19, 2016. Once all booths are sold, a waiting list will be kept.
NOTE: Contracts received after Friday, Oct. 31, 2016 will be subject to an increase of $2 per sq. ft. for booth
space collected.
Co-exhibitors are companies that are displaying within a primary exhibitor’s booth. Registered co-exhibitors
will be listed independently in all offi cial exhibitor listings, and have access to exhibitor promotional oppor-
tunities. In addition, registered co-exhibitors may receive badges under the company’s name, either from the
primary exhibitor’s allotment or by purchasing them directly.
An exhibiting company that has co-exhibitor(s) in its booth and would like them listed on the interactive
online show map, the LBM Expo App and the LBM Expo Show Guide, must complete a co-exhibitor contract
(available online). Only contracted co-exhibitors will be recognized as offi cial co-exhibitors at LBM Expo’17.
Exhibiting companies are under no requirement to register participating vendors but only contracted
co-exhibitors will be listed.
In the event that a registered co-exhibitor utilizes the General Service Contractor (Shepard Convention
Services) to move in exhibit materials and/or is setting-up its own booth materials, it is subject to the exhibitor
insurance provision: All property of the exhibitor is understood to remain under its custody and control, in
transit to or from or within the confi nes of the Rhode Island Convention Center, subject to the rules and regu-
lations of the exposition. Exhibitor agrees to carry liability insurance against injury to the person and property
of others in the amount of at least $2,000,000 and shall name the NRLA and the Rhode Island Convention
Center as additional insureds on such insurance policy(ies). Exhibitor shall provide NRLA with certifi cates evi-
dencing such insurance coverage. Non-registered co-exhibitors may not utilize the General Service Contractor;
all General Service Contractor requests must go through the Primary Exhibitor.
Booth placement for LBM Expo ’17 will be awarded in two phases by using the Points Placement System.
During the fi rst phase, all booth locations are determined by the number of points an Exhibitor has accu-
mulated. In order to take advantage of the early booth assignments, applications with contracts and deposit
payments are due and must be received at the NRLA Headquarters by Thursday, June 30, 2016.
Contracts without the deposit will be held until the deposit is received (even if that is during the second
phase.) Booth assignments begin with these contracts only and are placed in priority order by points. It is very
important to select numerous locations.
In the second phase, all applications with contracts and deposit checks received after Thursday, June 30,
2016 are placed on a fi rst-come, fi rst-served basis. If, during the second phase, two applications requesting the
same booth space are received on the same date, the point system will be used to determine placement.
Complete details regarding the Points Placement System is available at lbmexpo.com.

The NRLA has partnered with Out of the Box Exhib-
its to provide a low-cost, high-value exhibit option.
The sub-structure of the exhibits are made of exhibit
board that can be recycled like ordinary paper or
cardboard and are strong enough to be re-used many
times. Using an Out of the Box exhibit reduces ship-
ping, drayage, setup, labor and maintenance costs
and virtually eliminates storage. Perfect for a small or
fi rst time exhibitor.
At LBM Expo ’16, the NRLA used an Out-of-the-
Box exhibit for our pre-function area information
booth. Easy to put up and take down and we’ve used
it at other events post-Expo.
Patwin Plastics purchased an out-of-the box exhibit for LBM Expo ’16.
“This is the fi rst time we used Out-of-the-Box for our trade show display and we were very pleased. It is light weight and easy to handle, and set up was a snap. The text is clean and sharp, and the colors re-ally popped. We plan to use them again when we are ready to change or upgrade our booth display.”

2016 EXHIBITORS
LINEAR BOOTH—Linear booths have only one side exposed to an aisle and are generally arranged in a series
along a straight line. They are also called “in-line booths.”
Dimensions–Linear booths are 10-ft. x 10-ft.
Use of Space–Regardless of the number of linear booths utilized, display materials should be arranged in such
a manner so as not to obstruct sight lines of neighboring exhibitors. The maximum height of 8-ft. is allowed
only in the rear half of the booth space, with a 4-ft. height restriction imposed on all materials in the remaining
space forward to the aisle.
Note: When three linear booths are used in combination as a single exhibit space, the 4-ft. height limitation is
applied only to that portion of exhibit space that is within 10-ft. of an adjoining booth.
Linear booths of 4 or more must submit schematics for approval by January 9, 2017 to [email protected].
CORNER BOOTH—A corner booth is a linear booth exposed to aisles on two sides. All other guidelines for
linear booths apply.
PERIMETER BOOTH—A Perimeter Booth is a Linear Booth that backs to a wall of the exhibit facility rather than
to another exhibit. Perimeter booths have a 12-ft. maximum height limit. Display materials should not obstruct
or block sight lines of neighboring exhibitors. The maximum height of 12-ft. is allowed only in the rear half of
the booth space, with a 4-ft.) height limit imposed on all materials in the remaining space forward to the aisle.
(Note: When 3 or more Linear Booths are used in combination as a single exhibit space (10-ft. x 30-ft.), the 4-ft.
height limitation is applied only to that portion of exhibit space which is within 10-ft. of an adjoining booth.)
END-CAP BOOTH— An End-Cap confi guration is essentially an in-line (linear) booth placed in the position of
a Peninsula or Split Island. For shows that have Line-of-Sight rules and cubic content rules, this confi guration
must follow the dimensions below. End-cap Booths are generally 10-ft. deep by 20-ft. wide. The maximum back
wall height allowed is 8-ft. and the maximum back-wall width allowed is 10-ft. at the center of the back-wall
with a maximum 5-ft. (1.52m) height on the two side aisles. Within 5 feet of the 2 side aisles, the maximum
height for any display materials is 4-ft.
PENINSULA BOOTH—A Peninsula Booth is exposed to aisles on 3 sides and composed of a minimum of 4
booths. A Peninsula Booth is 20-ft. x 20-ft. or larger. The same principles apply regardless of booth size. When a
Peninsula Booth backs up to two Linear Booths, the back wall is restricted to 4-ft. high within 5-ft. of each aisle
and from the back wall, permitting adequate line of sight for the adjoining Linear Booths. Twenty feet is the
maximum height allowance, including attached signage for the center portion of the back wall and the remain-
ing area of the booth. Doublesided signs, logos, and graphics shall be set back 10-ft. from adjacent booths.
All schematics for Peninsula booths must be submitted for approval by January 9, 2017 to [email protected].
ISLAND BOOTH—An island booth is any booth exposed to aisles on all four sides.
Dimensions–An island booth is typically 20-ft. x 20-ft. or larger.
Use of Space–The entire cubic content of the space may be used up to the maximum allowable height, which
is 4 ft. lower than the ceiling’s highest point (see fl oor plan for ceiling height details) including signage. Island
Booth Site Lines–Island booths do not have site line restrictions. Because an island booth is separated by the
width of an aisle from all neighboring exhibits, full use of the fl oor plan is permitted. For example, an island
booth can go as high as the rules permit and construct a solid wall around the booth as long as they have an
aisle on all four sides. We fi nd that more and more companies are enclosing their booths with solid walls and
thought we should bring the information on Island Booth Site lines to your attention.
All schematics for island booths must be submitted for approval by January 9, 2017 to [email protected].
15 LBM EXPO ’17 | WWW.LBMEXPO.COM | RHODE ISLAND CONVENTION CENTER, PROVIDENCE, RI
Hanging signs and graphics are permitted in all standard Island Booths. LBM Expo will allow signage at the max-
imum allowable height (2 ft. lower than the ceiling’s highest point—see fl oor plan for ceiling height details).
Approval for the use of hanging signs and graphics should be received from the exhibiting company by not
later than Jan. 9, 2017. Drawings should be available for inspection.
Visit www.lbmexpo.com for complete details.
AT APPROVED LOADING AREASExhibitors are allowed to perform their own material handling at the designated hand-carry loading dock and
the 4th fl oor of the North Parking Garage provided they meet with all of the following criteria:
• Exhibit personnel performing the work must be bona fi de, full-time employees (“authorized personnel”) of
said company.
• Exhibitors may choose to off-load from a company-owned truck or rental vehicle, or from a car, van, or truck
owned by personnel of the company, provided the vehicle is co-owned or rental vehicles must be less than
24 ft. in length. Trucks must use loading dock. You may use the Parking Garage in specifi c areas as noted.
• Exhibitors may use only hand-operated equipment that they have provided; two-wheeled hand trucks and
four-wheeled fl at trucks are permitted as well.
AT OTHER ENTRANCESExhibitors will be allowed to hand carry one item, one time, in or out of the facility without having to access
the approved loading areas. No parking is allowed. The use of passenger elevators for movement of freight is
not allowed. All packages are subject to inspection by RICC and Shepard personnel.
A hand-carried item is defi ned as one item that can be easily carried by an individual exhibitor without the
need for dollies or other mechanized equipment.
