As 2009 comes to a close, now is a goodtime to take an inventory of your sales andmarketing efforts. Review what you haveexecuted over the past year and summarizethe results. If your business is going togrow through this period, you need toadapt to the times. This means analyzingyour sales and marketing strategy to ensureit still meets the needs of your market.

Consumers are more savvy than everbefore and to gain their attention, youhave to make sure you are speaking theirlanguage when and where they want tohear it.

Ask yourself these 8 questions and plan forresults…1. What is causing sales to happen in my

organization? Identify these methods and do more of it.

2. Who are my best customers? Recognize

your current customers and they will reward you with continued loyalty.

3. What defines my ideal customer: frequency, profitability, location, industry? These customers may represent a vertical market for your company to pursue.

4. What am I currently doing to drive traffic to my website? Simple activities can produce greater site activity. Does your site motivate the consumer to take action?

5. Am I managing my online reputation? With the soaring popularity of social media, consumers are creating and sharing their experiences, opinion and

content online. Make sure you are right in the middle of these online conversations.

6. Do I have a defined sales process? When you do things in the correct frequency and volume, results are predictable and measurable.

7. What are my competitors doing? In this economy, competitors may have left the marketplace. Be prepared to grab their market share with sound strategies.

8.Does my brand do a good job of portraying my company’s offering, culture and personality? Keep your brand in fighting shape – it may be time for a facelift.

Start 2010 with a fresh commitment toyour organization and a comprehensivemarketing strategy that defines objectivesand guides decision-making.
