Overview and Introduction• The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a school‐

wide strategic plan• Purpose to empower schools to better serve low‐income 

students, homeless, and other underserved subgroups  – For SIATech this is almost all students

• The LCAP includes information that demonstrates that SIATech is using LCFF funds to increase & improve services to these students

• The LCAP is based on an assessment of local needs• The LCAP’s accountability system gives SIATech initiative to 

make and measure strategic goals

LCFF & LCAP Financial Information

Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) consists of Base Grant, Supplemental & Concentration Grant

LCAP describes services provided to the student subgroups that generate 

supplemental and concentration grant dollars

The description includes details on the increased or 

improved services

Virtually all SIATech students fall into the subgroups in which supplemental/concentration funds are to be used, thus base grant dollars and other funding streams such as 

the Common Core Implementation & the CA Career Pathways Grant are used along with supplemental/concentration funds.

• Presentation by Marriott International about Corporate Culture and the importance of developing and protecting brand integrity– This presentation segued to a discussion about what makes SIATech unique and the non‐

negotiable characteristics all SIATech schools

• Keynote by Stanford Professor, Jo Boaler: The Mindset Revolution: Teaching Mathematics for a Growth Mindset ‐

• Leaders were given opportunities to analyze school site data in preparation for AdvancEd Accreditation

– The SIATech Common Assessment System (CAS) will provide students with immediate feedback/information to self‐monitor and evaluate their personal growth in reading, writing and math

• Individual Learning Plan– SIATech staff will engage students in the development and updating of Individual Learning Plans 

which will include planning and preparing for next steps after high school graduation.

Goal 2. Increase community outreach• Increase community outreach with the goal of providing SIATech’s proven 

educational model to a greater number of at‐promise high school dropouts.

• Actions/Services year 2– Expansion of efforts to serve more high school dropouts in CA. Research areas 

to serve more (like Santa Clara)– Growth in # of students who access virtual instruction & the type/level of
