Little Cowboy, Cowgirl contest SaturdayDo you have that special child who likes to dress up and play like

they are back in the good old days when there were realcowboys/cowgirls who rode their horses into town? We know thereare plenty of children who still dream of riding a horse or pony, orbetter yet, having their own!

Enter your little cowboy or cowgirl in the annual contest Satur-day, June 5. The contest is open to any child age 2 through 12.

Entry forms must be turned in with registration fee of $5. Eachentrant will receive a prize for participation. Winners in each cate-gory will each receive a $50 savings bond.

The theme for this year is “SmallTown - Big Dreams.”

Fire Chief Brian Durham will serveas grand marshal.

The parade entries will start regis-tering at 1 p.m. in the parking lot ofNetShape Technologies in Campbells-burg. Registration will end at 2:30p.m. The parade is scheduled to beginat 3 p.m.

Trophy presentation will begin at4:45 p.m. Trophies will be awarded Thecategories are: Antique Tractor,Antique Auto, Miscellaneous Float,Pet, Walking Unit, Cycles/4 Wheelers,Ball Team and Horse Unit.

Pre-registration is not necessary. Allentries are encouraged to decorate inRed, White and Blue. For additionalinformation, call 755-1010.

Antique tractor show, games

The Tri-County Antique FarmMachinery Association of Mitchellreturns for the 16th annual All-AmericanCountry Hoedown in Campbellsburg topresent its Antique Tractor show on Satur-day and Sunday10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Owners of equipment will be on handthroughout the day to share their hobbyand the history of rescue and restorationof their machines. There is no charge foradmission but donations are most wel-come.

A Little Kiddie Tractor Pull will alsotake place at 1 p.m. on Saturday and newthis year is an adult pedal tractor pull at 2p.m.

All tractors are invited to join theparade on Sunday. A trophy will beawarded for best entry. For more infor-mation, Steve Suddarth at 812-865-2056or Harold White 812-849-2534.

Baking contestA mouth-watering event will once again take place in

Campbellsburg at the All-American Country Hoedown.Stop by the old bank building and check out all the entries.

Contestants may enter their baked goods and a copy ofthe recipe between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. at the old bankbuilding on East Oak Street Saturday.

Do not put your name on baked goods or the recipe. Cat-egories are Homemade Cakes, Fruit Pies and Cookies.Judging will take place at noon. Contestants should enter awhole pie or cake or one dozen cookies, which will be auc-tioned Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. following announce-ment of winners, so be sure to take home a goodie or two.

All entries must be in disposable containers coveredwith clear plastic wrap and must not require refrigeration,for safe handling. No recipe, container or entry will bereturned.

Cooks of all ages, from all areas are invited to enter thecontest. Each contestant may enter only one item in eachcategory, but are welcome to enter all categories.

Baby contest Saturday The Brown-Vernon Fire Department will be filled

with beautiful babies for the 16th annual baby contest.This year’s contest is set for Saturday, June 5, with reg-istration beginning at 1 p.m. Judging will begin at 2 p.m.

There are five categories in the contest with divisions ineach for boys and girls.

The categories are: 0-3 months, 4-6 months, 7-12months,13-18 months and 19-24 months. There is one cat-egory for twins; 0-9 months and 10-18 months.

Judging will be based on the babies’ personalities, notthe clothes they will be wearing.

Entry fee is $5 and all entrants will receive a prize. Foradditional information, please call Karen Qualkinbush at883-4556.

We ask that the entry form be completely filled out andpresented at time of registration along with entry fee. Habitat for Humanity 5K Walk/RunThe Habitat for Humanity 5K Walk/Run will begin just north of the rail-

road tracks on Sycamore Street in the front of the Campbellsburg ChristianChurch building Saturday. The out and back course will take you throughbeautiful Washington County. Water will be provided at the turnaround in theHopp Cemetery.

Registration opens at 7 a.m., run/ walk begins at 8 a.m. Kids’ run begins at9 a.m. Awards after Kids’ Fun Run.

Friday at 6 p.m. with two divisions.Junior is for those 12 and under andsenior is for those 13 and older.

Prizes will be awarded in bothdivisions: $50 for first and $25 forsecond.
